For Today, Monday, January 21 Outside my window...the sun is just beginning to rise over the Blue Ridge Mountains this chilly morning in the Valley--a beautiful sight! The temperature tonight will be down to 12 degrees and tomorrow night even lower down to 7! I am thinking...about what we...

AAAA ~ Another Antique Adventure Alert
In my last AAA post I sent out a call to my friend Jean to "let's set a date to go antiquing." That date was this past Friday, and we had a fun time traveling to Lexington and shopping at Duke's Antiques and The Antique Mall. Below you can see a few of the items that caught my eye, but only one ...

Love Claire's room! Who wouldn't want to have a reading/pajama day in that room!
the last day of second grade + the first day of summer vacation
Yesterday was Claire's last day of second grade. I have loved her second grade year, and got a little teary. :) It was a half-day at school, and her class had a party at a local park. It was also International Day at her school, so the kids got to dress according to their cultural heritage. "W...

The blur of Barney
I'm taking a photography class this summer, trying to learn how to use my new Canon T2i camera that I bought recently. I've always wanted to learn more about photography, but I've never had anything other than a point and shoot camera. Recently one of our assignments was to get some action sho...

Maybe I don't know how to cook them properly, but no...I don't like collard greens. I guess I'm missing out!
Are you traveling to Virginia this summer? I'm planning a trip in mid-July.
Sights from the farmers market on Saturday
The peaches are ripe. The strawberries are still plentiful. Don't forget the watermelon! There were lots of sunflowers for sale. And lots of annuals and perennials. Love this old picket fence around this booth! But I passed on the state veggie of South Carolina. ;-)

Thanks, Ann. I know you got tired of encouraging me to start back! ;-)
