Sorry Wil, my Dad wins, hands down -- The liquor store has a "card all" policy, so he got carded. Yes, my 72-year-old father got carded buying cheap bourbon.

OK, this is just sad. I could care less about talk like a pirate day -- Pirates just don't do anything for me.
But what do I do this afternoon? Scratch my eye and have to wear a patch.

Adam has been one of my favorite young actors since his years on "Picket Fences." I'm thrilled to hear that he's even more talented than I previously knew!
And Wil, I'm glad to hear you had such a nice evening with your co-workers. It's a rare gift to work with people you both like and respect!

Adam Wylie, who plays Braniac 5 on Legion of Superheroes, is also a magician member at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. It's a pretty big deal to be a magician member, and it's not easy. Hopeful prestidigitators have to go through a challenging and rigorous process to be accepted, and it's as big ...

CHV -- I agree that today's problems are critical. But how many times have we found a solution for today when we were reaching for tomorrow?
The challenge - in science, in politics, in life - is finding the right balance between dreams and daily life.

Have you seen those shows on Discovery about how Star Trek inspired scientists to create everything from the cell phone to the MRI? They're really cool, and totally worth tracking down. When I worked on the show, I met lots of people who had been inspired by the original series in one way or ano...
