Ha! I got one right when I got home after seeing Greg too! I've only gotten a chance to try it on Dim Sum and she was pretty weirded out by the whole thing. ReadyMade recently tweeted that rubber gloves are good at getting fur off furniture. We should try that next!
Magic Coat Love Glove Guinea Pig
While I was in L.A. over Fourth of July weekend, I went to the pet store with my brother and picked up a Four Paws Magic Coat Love Glove ($12.99) at his recommendation. Ever on the search for a good cat hair remover for the couch, I was game to try it, especially when it came with a thumbs ...
This is something I had to deal with when I was feeding cat colonies in Brooklyn. I found that the easiest solution is communication. If you start feeding anything, without talking to the community it affects, you're going to create a tense environment. If you at least start a conversation with the community that, like it or not, home these strays you can find out what bothers them and try to come up with solutions.
If trash from flyaway dishes is a problem, you can create more stable feeding stations, if more cats is an issue, you can TNR the strays in order to curb more generations. The colony itself will then, hopefully, start to protect its territory and keep other cats or animals from coming in.
Also, where she's chosen to feed may not be the most considerate area. She should find a more secluded area that she can control and clean easily, without bothering local businesses. Hopefully both sides start to talk to each other and can come up with a balanced solution that works for everyone -- especially the cats!
Pacifica Defines Feeding Ferals as Littering
Eye on Blogs brought this kinda kooky case to my attention via the Pacifica Riptide: Nancy Morrison, a woman in Pacifica, has been charged with two citations by the Pacifica Police Department for feeding feral cats in a business' parking lot. Her charge? Littering. According to the Pacifica Tr...
Liz, I believe it was a honeybee. I only found the stinger because it was sticking out of her chin like a big whitehead. If you can find where they've been stung, you should probably treat the area with ice and the baking soda paste. I've also read that you can give your pets antihistamines to alleviate any reaction they have to the venom, but check with your vet on what kind and dosage.
What to Do if Your Pet Gets Stung by a Bee Pet Rx
So on top of the whole flea medication drama, Pookie got stung by a bee last Thursday. It was weird since I saw it all happen. Poor boo was laying out in the yard and when she got up she went to lick her leg. The reason for the itch? A bee was climbing up. As soon as she went for it she was st...
Just wanted to give you a heads up that I blogged about your awesome home office on Unplggd.

The Office
We had a spare bedroom that was full of unopened boxes after the move. When we arrived back home from our vacation, I was ready to tackle it. We were in desperate need of a place where we could store computer and camera gear and be the electronic hub of the house. I convinced my husband he ne...

@kasie: You're totally right. I was trying to be cheeky and threw fact out the window. Have edited to reflect the correct term to use. Thanks for catching that.
So, have you traveled with your bird before?
How To Travel with Birds
I've always assumed that those who've had to transport a pet bird rigged something up with a standard cat/dog carrier. Little did I know that fowl avian lovers have more practical options at their disposal. One of them is the above Pak-O-Bird Carrier. The soft-sided backpack can be carried ...

Lost & Found: A Happy Ending
My boss was telling me about his friend who lost her cat and created some well designed, eye-catching lost cat posters. They were so cool that they worked; she ended up finding her cat! When she got her kitty back, she made these even cooler found cat posters, to celebrate their reunion. So s...

Kitten with Two Faces Continues to Thrive Passes Away
Last Friday Jolene tipped us off to a kitten born with two faces. I just saw video of him had to share. It's amazing that this kitten continues to survive. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he makes it just as 10-year-old Frank and Louie has in Massachusetts. Frank and Louie was brought in ...

Central Florida Sheriff Puts Inmates to Work at Overcrowded Shelter
I've often debated with folks on ways our nation's prison systems could be updated to offer more hope than despair. Obviously there's a lot that needs to be addressed with the way we deal with lawbreakers, but one of the aspects about prison life that I find so frustrating is that we really d...
that sea turtle story is so insane. I've spent the entire day in awe of how random things come together like this.
A Sea Turtle's Directorial Debut & Cross Species Dogs Table Scraps
With so many pet stories posted around the web every week, it's hard to keep up. Table scraps is our weekly roundup of memorable pet news around the internayz. Dogs gather for a Porky's style summer in upstate New York. (CBS) They named this kitten Two-Faced. Not because she's bitchy, bu...

Brazil's Dog Favelas
How do you house 1,500 stray dogs? You set them up in a dog favela. Located within the Brazil town of Caxias do Sul, the non-profit rescue organization SOAMA, which translates to Just Love, built 1,000 small dog houses that look like mini versions of the slums the dogs' human counterparts li...
HA! That's from Jimmy Kimmel. He did a alternate ending bit and coincidentally B and I watched it last night even though we don't watch JK.

Future Giveaway Item? You Tell Me!
I made these two crocheted dolls a while ago with the intention of putting them up as Pawesome Giveaway items. Right now I'm on the fence about them, but they've currently just been sitting on my mantle gathering dust and cat hair. Anyway, taking an unofficial poll. Would anyone enter a giveaw...

To the Max!
Came across this amazing photo by Paul Alsop on Flickr. Nice one!
I can't wait to hear about the frustrations you have with them. I was in the same boat -- I loved that they were gardening, yet I hated how inconsiderate they were of other people's space. I think your fencing will help though, since they won't be able to see you and hence won't be able to ask you to water their garden, take them to home depot, or drive them to Queens (no joke!).

FarmTina isn't the only "farm" on the block... though technically, it's the only legal one. FarmTina (aka, my backyard) is surrounded by chain link fences that separate me from my neighbors' backyards. The neighbors to my right have a wall of rose bushes and a little cabana in their yard that lo...

Life Vest Doggy Holder
My friend Evelyn saw this dog at Gallery 16 in San Francisco being held up by a doggy life jacket. The woman said when questioned that she used it carry her dog like a purse "when it got in the way." Umm.. Apparently, some other small dog owners aren't just using these life vests just for wate...
I like the idea of helping elder pups up satirs or into cars, but using this because your dog "gets in the way," well that's just sad. Reminds me of parents who put their kids on leashes.

Oh and the reason we don't have XXLs and larger is that the logo is too small for that size shirt and it ends up looking a bit silly. I would cost us another $50 to get a larger print on the screen at the printers and we've already invested so much in this current batch of shirts.
