Yeah, there's no reason for Jerrigan to be ranked over TY. That's a joke. And no RM anywhere is pretty dissapointing, the guy led our team in tackles and was at least as important to us as Gaitor. Congrats to all of the players that did get honored, and no worried about MC not getting it this year. He'll win plenty before long.

Hey, FiuP&L, the dancing boxers kid isn't on this board as far as I know, but he's one of my friends. Maybe I'll give him a heads up to get on here. Great win last night, and I"m very excited for the next season. I'm also looking forward to baseball season. Might be doing some radio broadcasts and maybe even Panther Pass commentating, so keep an ear out.

Lost in all of this was Greg Ellingson's performance last night. Man, oh man. This offense could be really fun next season if Perry's as good as he looked last night.

Did somebody say they were surprised at how poorly the defense played? Come on, guys. Weatherspoon and McDuffie were what made that secondary so great, losing them is what killed us in the 4th.

That Volleyball team is special, but they are still relatively young. I'm not sure they'll be able to take the pressure of playing MTSU or WKU in the finals. They tightened up today in the 2nd and 3rd games and almost let it get to a 5th game. That said, they are great, and a lot of fun to watch. The energy in the Arena was great today. The basketball team looked much better tongiht than the first game. Gacesa looks like a real nice player, with his ability to play in or out, and Dominguez is just a solid player all around. He looked great defensively. I think a lineup with Hicks, Asprilla, Gacesa, Dominguez and Taylor could play in the Sun Belt from what I've seen.

I voted for The Money Ball, and not just because I suggested it. It's simple. No need to overdo it with a lot of extra words.

Seriously, MIA/NY Josh: What's the point, man? Worry about your team and let us worry about ours. Our OOC schedule was tough, but yeah we play in the Sun Belt, so our SOS isn't that great. But you have to be able to beat the teams on your schedule, and that's what this team is doing right now. If and when they keep improving, they'll move up and start playing tougher opponents in another conference. That said, TY can play with anyone. There is no doubt in my mind about this. He might not be doing this as a freshman at UF or WVU (The two places he turned down to come here), but before he was done, he'd have made a name for himself there two. He's 18 years old and he might be the most electrifying return man in the entire nation. And it's not just Sun Belt teams. Stop hating. Seriously, it's counterproductive.

I was there and it was the best atmosphere I've ever been at for an FIU game of any sport. Awesome stuff, and that team is really good. I Hope everyone comes out for the conference tourney. My prediction for the game is optimistic: FIU 27 ASU 14

UL 28 FIU 17 They're gonna push us around. Am I the only one who think Weatherspoon has been overlooked this year? That guy is a beast. I could see him playing next year on Sundays. He's big and fast, and he hits hard.

I like Mertile, but he needs to get used to getting hit. He curls up at the point of contact every time he touches the ball.

I'm most excited about any time we get to play in state teams.

Hey, I was (and I suppose kind of still am) one of those WY cheerleaders! I don't necessarily love the name The Beacon, but I don't see anything related to "Panthers" being any better. I think it's a reference to the old airport tower.

Well, in WRGP's defense, Athletics only provides student media with one spot on their flights, and we can't afford to fly reporters up independently. So it would be asking an awful lot of Andrew to set up the whole radio thing, do the game by himself, go downstairs to talk to players and coaches after the game, get all of his radio stuff packed and onto the bus before it leaves, and then write a good story for the beacon. It's also the reason the Beacon struggles to get photos for road games. We have to choose between sending a photographer or a writer. It'd be nice if we could get more than one person up there, but the way things are, it's pretty difficult. I think if they could have, WRGP would've been glad to have the game. I know Andrew reads and sometimes comments here, so maybe he can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've painted a pretty accurate description of the situation. I covered a few road games for the Beacon last season, and I know there isn't much room on the team flight for extra spots.

I was at the Stadium Club. Pretty good atmosphere there.

That's what it implies to me... And I can't agree with those saying that this incident needs to be swept under the rug so the university can save face. It was an ugly incident and the university's employees and security need to learn a lesson from it.

"FIU fans as idiots. and can we please stop the OLE OLE chant." Are you kidding? That's the only legitimately original thing FIU football fans do. Everything else is a hodgepodge of chants and songs taken from Virginia Tech, Florida, and all of the other schools that have real tradition. And my problem with the way the students were handled is covered in my commentary that I posted: It wasn't the FIU employee's place to attack the student. He did not look like security, he wasn't wearing a police uniform or the yellow shirt with "security" on it. He was wearing the same FIU polo that all other athletic department employees wear. That is absolutely unnacceptable, and he should be fired.

What a win. I think we can go 7-5 this season, following tonight. I really think we can beat everyone but Troy and ULL, and we may be able to sneak one out if of those if the defense keeps this up. I might be travelling up to the Troy game with the Beacon to cover it, but if not, a watch party needs to happen. I don't think it's a stretch to say this is the biggest game in school history.
