This is the story of how I nearly destroyed the kitchen floor, but was saved dramatically by a dear friend who drove up the west coast to speak wisdom into my crazy ears. A while ago, {let's not dwell on... Continue reading

Via Desire to Inspire This has long been one of my favorite rooms, mostly because those pink walls are completely perfect. After doing about one thousand useless internet searches to figure out what color the paint was, I finally got... Continue reading

No, the rabbit came from Powell's...but it didn't really hold anything up on the old hollow door. It is much happier in solid wood!

Thank You!!! It is good to be back, even if I feel extraordinarily rusty! :)

Sometime last February, I took apart the bathroom on the main floor of our house. There is really no need to get into the nitty gritty of the floor removal process, because it was arduous. I was occasionally seized by... Continue reading

via Instagram There is a pileup of artwork in each room of my house, and yet, some walls are bare. What gives? I guess I have commitment issues with where to hang things. There are some pieces that I... Continue reading

Rita, Thank you! I think of you each time I drive past The Woodsman! ;) It's amazing how much time has passed since that day we met for coffee, and how it seemed to just zip by. I am looking forward to catching up as well, and I truly would like to make some sort of thrift date work sooner than later!
Thanks dearest Mary. It means the world to have grace from Texas! ;)
Oh! Thank you Betty! I missed you too!
Susan, Thank you so much! I am happy to hear from familiar friends. :) When you say 'store' a crazy number of frames, do you mean keep out of the way, or display in some way? ;) I will think on it. I have a few myself that are just hanging around in the corners.
Ok, nine months is a significant amount of time. Truly, it shows a lapse in judgement, and care for you. I am sorry. Every day I would think about writing something, but the blog became like a needy friend who... Continue reading

You adore torn up floors? ;) Me too. There is a Dallas Watson part of me that wants to just refinish the wood floor underneath... I thought of you when I was writing that tetanus line, actually. Ha!
Thanks Betty! I think squinting is a good idea. I also, am eager to have the room finished!
{future bathroom be completed with some lovely brassy fringe} When this house was built, the tiny bathroom did not exist. There was some sort of back porch that led to a coal shaft or something where the sink is... Continue reading

You have no idea how many times we have watched that video, or sang that song. It's a little disturbing.
Susan, I totally contemplated putting off the repair for a while...just because it was so friendly. But, it seems like a wiser choice not to get attached to someone else's table. ;)
