Gail, Chelsea has not been alone in the house uncrated. She has just enjoyed checking the outdoors from windows that are her height (18" from the floor). I finally saw her do it this morning. She perks her ears and looks both ways before moving to the next window. She goes from room to room to each of the windows where we've raised the blinds. Looking for squirrels maybe?

Has anyone tried boots? It was bitter cold today and I really hated to take Chelsea out barefooted. Our last Dal would not tolerate boots. He chewed them all off. Any helpful hints?

It was bitter cold today, but we still took Chelsea out for a walk. Our 10 year old grandson asked if he could hold the leash. Since he had done this before with Grandpa, I consented and then suggested Chelsea might like to run with him. What a delight to see our grandson leaping ahead with Chelsea happily keeping pace until she got half a block away. At that point she stopped, turned around as if to say, "What's taking you so long?" When I'd catch up, they were off again!

Gail, did you get the pix I sent via e-mail? Not the Facebook link, but the individual shots.

New owner here. Chelsea loved up our youngest daughter last night. Snuggled and fell sound asleep with Ken. Protected the car from me! And begged our daughter for more belly rub when she quit. She's freaked by noises so the ball toss in the fenced yard got interrupted several times by falling leaves, woodpecker noises, and car sounds. She'll get used to it pretty soon. I think she's going to be a good fit.

Dan, I missed your comment when you posted it in April . . . the notification system is sometimes "broken" :-). Anyway, in today's market which is terribly depressed, I would suggest to my clients that they discount their list price by $5000 instead of installing granite. The prices you quote are for a moderate size kitchen rather than a higher scale home, so pricing is primary. Now IF the counter tops are in poor condition, it's a good idea to replace them to freshen the kitchen.

Carol, I learned the "fairest/squarest" version. I don't recall having heard the tune in any other form either, but I'm not a really good one at learning the names to tunes as you can tell from this post! :-)

Thank you, Carol, for the correction. Since my members are pre-4th grade I assumed the Hoosiers song was the state song. We sang it at the state high school tournament for some reason. However, that I was also a member of 4-H so that may be where my true memories lie. It's been a LOT of years!
