Forget The Swayze (and The Norris)- it's all about The Joel. Chuck and Patrick could maybe kick many and various asses, but Joel could zing them so fast their legs would fall off. I'm just sayin'.

Weeeeeeee seeeee yoooooou... Actually, this is less like stalking and more like sharsies. Now if we could listen in on what you're REALLY listening to at home, say on your living room stereo, and we found out that all the stuff you're sharing is the "cool Wil" but what you're dancing/singing to in your living room while the kids were at school and Annie was at work was actually, say, the soundtrack to "Annie"...

The biotech I work for has a doughnut factory across the street. It smells like maple bars a few times a week. You think I'd be sick of it after 10 years, but I think it's wonderful. And I've never ever had one of their doughnuts! (They're not open to the public.) One of the best, most seductive smells to me is onions sauteing in olive oil. OMG, it makes me salivate just to think of it...

I dig this discussion aspect as well. It's like you're holding a class or forum, and you bring up a topic and say, "Discuss!" And by golly, we do.

This makes me realize once again that we need more libraries, and they need to be open longer hours. I like to think that the more access everyone has to libraries, the better off we'll all end up.

Actually, what makes me leave the warmth, comfort, and safety of my bed is having to pee. But after that, it's all good.

Oh holy crap yourself, "Johnny T"! Politics are part of a person, especially of a "grown up" person who is involved and cares about how things are going in his/her country. Why should Wil stop blogging about politics? It's part of who he is and what he writes about. Sheesh, why not ask Garrison Keillor to stop making political jokes on the Prairie Home Companion? Because it's HIS show. This is WIL'S blog. Open your mind and read, and if you don't like what Wil writes, then discuss the issues intelligently or go read something else. Dumping insults on the blogger, on the other hand, is not "grown up."

David- as a denizen of SF, the answer is: sort of. You can get trains from LA to SF, but it takes many hours and actually costs more than an air flight. California is a loooooong state, and travel between LA and SF takes hours by train and car, but only about an hour by plane. (Not counting the time it takes to get to and from the airports and deal with security, etc.) I dated a New Jersey guy for a while and drove him to Disneyland from SF, and he kept turning to me and asking, shocked, "Are we still in California???" Wil, run over to Macy's on Union Square and check out the SPCA pet adoption windows! They did them in the theme of Xmas movies, including The Christmas Story. Watch kittens jump around the "major award" lamp! To me "geek" is a non-gender-based term. Female geeks like the same things as males. How can geek toys be "girly"??
