The term "electronic commerce" has evolved from its original meaning of electronic shopping to actual meaning, covering all aspects of market processes and enabled companies, mostly Internet and technology World Wide Web. Electronic commerce is understood as online sales, means doing business online or sell and buy products and services through Web storefronts. The products can be sold as used cars physical products or services (eg, travel, online medical consultations, and distance education). They can also be digital products such as news, images and sound, databases, software and all types of products relating to information. The question that may arise to all those wondering about the possibility of entering e-commerce is if this is not just a fad, or really condition our way of thinking and perceiving reality. Well, both e-commerce and Internet, are not a fad. It can be seen in its international effects. Some may find it unnecessary to open a web store, but the web stores are electronic commerce and digital economy. Be new types of interfaces (browsers and protocols) and new networks (privatized), but what WWW stands for is our relentless march towards the digital economy and knowledge-based society. Companies focused on electronic commerce began more than two decades with the introduction of electronic data interchange (EDI) between trading firms (sending and receiving of orders, delivery and payment information, etc.) Even the consumer-oriented e-commerce also has a long history: every time you use an ATM or have a credit card, you are placing an electronic transaction. EDI and ATM, however, operate in a closed system is a more convenient means of communication strictly between the parties involved. The Web has opened a new era by combining the openness of the Internet with a simple user interface. The WWW was created in particle physics laboratory CERN in Geneva in 1991 (with Mosaic, the predecessor of Netscape).
