http://www.boingboing.net/images/mitchum.jpg Sounds like the old Yin/Yang Love/Hate Mitchum, in Night of the Hunter would love one. In fact, as a blazing progressive, even i would want one! peace box

Ah, but i think we all agree with the sage Serr8d! IF I WERE a fix-newsed-palin-thumpin-limbaugh-ned flanders, i would make the exact same statement. Translation: Bush is the worst of the three, Clintin rocked while getting screwed!, and Obama is gonna blow your minds. And that is what the truth is. Pretty scary hun, teabagger? peace box

Wow. What do folks think? I can only see 4 possibilities. This is: 1. random coincidence 2. planned 3. carefully planned 4. carefully planned to precision Are the folks at time explicitly shilling like this? Man, i must be so out of touch. To think that everyday folks would put the "Cheney 20120" bit in as a "hey, look at that". Wild.... Great post. thanks peace box

we threw eggs at Prez Bush inaugural motorcade. The protests over Bush (stolen election) were very much ongoing.

rationality and racism are subject. not objective; and evolve over time. No doubt racism and fear of diminishing white/make/protestant domination of this country is driving much of the hate. But i was crying "facism" 6 years ago! Was i more or less rational than the cries of "socialism" now? (I even see the right now screaming we are headed toward facism...man if i could only keep up!

All....i was quite proud to see the rally's, turnouts, posters, and so on that the left/progressive movement did during BuschCo. Aside from Firearms and violence turning up on the right, how are these any different? These seem like legitimate forms of political satire/protest to me. Albeit, baser and less creative than what much on the left are capable of. So now, i don't see these protests as any more dangerous than what I/we have done. peace box

Disagree. ANYONE who wears a firearm in public -- and not dressed up like Yosemite Sam --IS a gun-toting fanatic. Nothing good will come of trying to out gun/machismo the nuts. People will die...and not the people responsible. How about a duel settle health care? Ridicule is a much stronger weapon as it exposes the truth. My advice: Better Posters (with no hitler references)... peace box

With the orange "sun" in the back and the angles of the tight-rope bend, the angle of the balance rod and obama's shape take on an japanese character shape. Certainly reads to me as a "couching tiger" scene; with obama's look of guile. of course the caption under cuts all that. peace boxcar

On ABCNews.com, there was this sub-headline: "Psychological experts say the thrill of victory contributed to his misbehavior." Translation: "Winners Do Drugs!" ....now what's my excuse? ;) peace box

BagMan I disagree. There is nothing to deconstruct here. Other than a violent looking male and a slinky blonde. King Kong? Is that the racist angle i am supposed to be offended by? Is racist to mention it? Is it racist NOT to mention it? At what point do we move beyond this? As i tell my white audiences: "It is just as racist to say i love all black people as it is to say i hate all black people". So let us assume it IS a King Kong pose. To quote our VP (and you know i must love to do that!): So What? In fact why are we discussing why the Giselle is not being deconstructed for allowing herself to be objectified? Lastly, i think it is a weak photo. Definitely not one of Annie's best. The contrast of black and white makes for a striking visual justification. Not a racial statement. Looking forward to what other's think. The tremendous Bag community, please help me understand what the big deal is....if there is one? peace box
