I couldn't agree more. Besides quality plants, selling quality mulch and compost is high on my list too. Yes you can buy $3 compost but what's in it? Boiler ash? Ground up pallets? Toxic chemicals? Let the BOX STORES sell that. I visited two IGC's this past month, and was amazed to hear phrases like "It's cheap and customers buy it" and "I really don't care what's in the compost as long as it says natural on the bag". What good is buy a quality plant if you sell me junky soil to plant it in? Come on people, let's kick it up a notch.
