I've always said Legler's the only ESPN analyst that's not just a complete clown and his analysis never seems swayed by the popularity of the player/team. He's always logical and insightful and he may also be right about these Celtics. Damn.

Et Tu, Legler?
There's no doubt Tim Legler has been one of the biggest fans of the Celtics in the mainstream media. Which makes his comments today on WEEI a little more painful. “I think the problem ultimately for the Celtics is going to be that they don’t have home court,” Legler said. “I think they’re goin...
We're done. I don't know what else to say. It's really painful to see it happen like this too. It's worse than losing Game 7 to the Lakers last year because at least that was a valiant, glorious effort that we probably would have won with Perk in the game. They lost and I was proud of them. Proud to be a fan of the losing team. Now, the injuries, the Heat's athleticism and the Rondo drama are all making us look like fools and all summer we'll be spat upon by the media. One and done, lucky, under/overachievers... that's what they'll call us. This sucks.

Your Morning Dump... The hustle stats are hideous
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. In Tuesday's outing, the Heat took 36 free throws to the Celtics' 22. The Heinsohnian theory -- blame the refs! -- won't hold...
Agreed with everyone above, that was very informative.

The Celtics: A terrible offensive rebounding team by design
Stat geeks, cover your eyes... you're not going to like what you're about to see. Actually... scratch that. Open your eyes. Focus your attention on this post. Because it is the proof that the numbers lie... or at least don't tell the whole story. Sometimes, you need to look beyond the number...
I'm with you man, people are always quick to write the Celtics off but when other teams (ahem, Lakers) struggle or stumble even more the media excuses them and acts like they've got everything under control.
Criticism of Celtics is overboard
I turned on WEEI this morning to hear Dennis & Callahan blasting the Celtics Game 2 performance. "You don't feel good about this team's chances of wining a ring do you?" was the question repeated by the hosts. The national media is jumping all over the Celtics too. NBA.com's John Schuhmann crank...
Awesome. I love West Coast Celtic fans!
RedsArmy presents FanFriday #14 "West Coast Connection"
As we get ready to start the playoffs here in Boston, it's important to remember just how much of an impact the fans have. Kevin Garnett talked about it yesterday with CSNNE. He emphasized his love for the Garden crowd and how they "come alive." So if you're heading down to Causeway Street on ...
Wow. Are you kidding me? No resect at all. Fuck that.
Enemy Chatter: The Celtics are old, slow and shallow
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Chicago. Are the Celtics going to flip the switch in the playoffs? I don't think there is a switch they can flip that makes t...
Why not go after Sheed either way? We need some big man insurance. We really can't have enough big men to fight the Lakers with.
Recap: Sloppy Celtics still good enough to beat Detroit
(Photo by Brian Babineau/NBAE via Getty Images) The Celtics red-hot shooting offset their sloppy passing in tonight's 101-90 victory over Detroit. How hot? 64% FG and 63% 3 FG. How sloppy? 19 turnovers. The Celtics put this one away with a 15-2 run in the 3rd quarter. Kevin Garnett had 13 of ...
I still think Shaq is fine and this is all just a smokescreen to keep him tucked away until the playoffs. It was suggested by some bloggers that the C's do exactly that and I think they had the right idea. Danny and Doc know what they're doing and I think Shaq's gonna be back, relatively healthy and ready to help in the playoff run. I could be wrong of course, but that's been my feeling for weeks now.

Shaq out till playoffs?
Via Sherrod The Boston Celtics are starting to get worried that Shaquille O'Neal's sabbatical from the game to deal with an assortment of right foot/leg/Achilles tendon continues to take longer than expected to heal. While the goal is to have him suit up before the playoffs, Celtics coach Doc ...
Man, I love these guys. I want to see them succeed and keep the Celtics ahead of the Lakers in titles. I believe they can do it... together.

Doc puts it on the Big 4's shoulders
Doc Rivers is laying it all out there. He's flat out putting the C's recent struggles on the players... saying this whole mess that's drilling ulcers into our guts is mental. And he's putting it on the guys who have been here the longest: “I’m not blaming anybody. I always blame me myself....
Wow. We've hit rock bottom I'd say. I'm actually a proponent of the Perk/Green trade but is anyone else getting the sense that the team's quit on Doc and Danny for breaking up the family? I wouldn't have even considered that two weeks ago but, especially with that "soft" comment back-and-forth between KG and Doc, I think it's possible. In the Big 3 era the players have had nothing but respect for Doc and only good things to say, and yet KG's response to the "soft" accusation seemed a bit insubordinate and disrespectful. Add to that Rondo mentioning the Perk trade as one of the reasons for his recent poor play and a bigger picture is starting to emerge. Even I might be losing faith at this point in this broken home of a team.

Recap: The Celtics are dead
I feel sorry for anyone who has tickets to the remaining regular season games. The Celtics have flat out quit. That's the only explanation for the pitiful performance we witnessed tonight. How the hell do you blow a 13-point lead to Charlotte? The mighty Bobcats rattled off a 16-0 run in the 4...
I need this to actually be a poster right now. Whatever it costs I'll pay for it.

I was at this game last night, in section 200 behind the backboard. I saw Beasley go down HARD. Looked really bad at first.
Also, as I walked into Staples Center with my Rondo jersey-shirt on a guy running one of the front tables yelled, "Hey Rondo," and gave me the thumbs up. Even people working the at the Lakers games are secret Celtics fans.

Andrew Bynum tries to injure Michael Beasley
I'm on the record as being wistful for the days where hard fouls were part of the game. But if you're going to foul someone hard, you gotta do it the right way. What Andrew Bynum did last night was not doing it the right way. Bynum made no attempt at the ball. Instead, he flies full speed in...
I'm actually glad he's going to Dallas. He'd pretty much ride the pine in Boston and now he'll be the Laker's headache.

Just as we thought: Brewer headed to Dallas
Twitter / Marc Stein: Just filed to ESPN.com: Ma ... via kwout This was highlighted earlier... Corey Brewer appears to be going to Dallas. The C's simply could not compete with the money Dallas had to offer. Any one thinking the C's can claim Brewer with the trade exception from the M...
