I wish Hartline would take less money to remain a Dolphin so we can sign a guy like Wallace. Hartline is more than just a possession receiver. On some of the occasions he was open deep the ball was either under or overthrown or thrown out of bounds or to the wrong shoulder. He was injured for most of training camp and didn't have the chance to work a full offseason with T-hill. Id like to see what he'd do opposite a Wallace type. One thing. We DO have a lot of holes to fill. Hope some get filled anyway. It'd be a start.
Dolphins history with free agency? Not great
I did an impromptu live chat on twitter today during lunch. If you are not following me, please do so now to add to your Dolphins fan experience. Anyway, during the chat someone asked me my opinion of the best unrestricted free agent the Dolphins ever signed. So I went to my trusty media guide ...
As for Bertsot and his Hartline apologist comment. You must be one of those frontrunning phonies that jumped on the Dolphins bandwagon when Marino was hot. Hartline is a good receiver that would be great if he was on a team with a dynamic offense with a QB like Brady or Rivers, Brees, Rogers or Payton Manning. He's better than he was but his numbers will likely get better as we get more talent. Don't panic

Dan Diedorf is the most unprofessional color commentator I can think of. You might ask why he hates us so much. The way I see it, he and Conrad "Leg-biter" Dobler were OL on a pathetic St Louis Cardinals team that the Dolphins once beat 52 - 14 or something like that. When he was in his heyday the Dolphins were great. That' the way I see it. So now he has a lifetime grudge and a bully pulpit to channel his hatred

I agree with that study about football off season & depression. It's not clinical depression but it definitely leaves a void that's tough to fill. Love hoops and I like baseball(well Canes and Yankee baseball anyway) but there is nothing like Canes fb. It's been real tough these last 10 or so years having to deal with poor coaching and the manifestations there of but I think we are starting to see a change for the better taking place. GO CANES!
Gator Hater
There are two things you need to know about me and most other Miami Hurricane fans: We don't use the word "hate" easily or often. We hate the Florida Gators. For as long as I can remember being a Miami Hurricane fan meant that you hated the Florida Gators more than any other team. Whether it...
If Boise State doesn't rate a stronger opponent than Miami then something is wrong with our Bowl system. Oh thats right there is. Never mind.
I think Boise would feel insulted if they find themselves matched up with a team with 5 losses like Miami.
Independence Bowl would love Canes-Boise State; Seantrel hurt; Botts MVP;
TAMPA -- Jerry Anderson, one of 12 people on the Advocare 100 Independence Bowl selection committee, said Saturday he would love to pit the Hurricanes (6-5) against 10th-ranked Boise State in their bowl game Dec. 26. "We like the TV appeal because they're a national team and have been for a long...

Ojomo unsure if he'll return in 2012; plus news on Benjamin, Seantrel and more
CORAL GABLES -- Although he's classified on UM's roster as a junior, defensive tackle Adewale Ojomo said Tuesday he isn't sure if he'll be back next year in a Hurricanes uniform. And the reason has nothing to do with him possibly going pro early. According to Ojomo, his future rests in the hand...
It would be nice if one of our great players stayed and played his senior season. We really need Streeter to stay for the teams sake. Sure he'll make a lot of money in the league but with the new CBA he wont make HUGE money. Our new QB whoever that may be will need him. STAY!!!
Golden Takes Responsibility

There would be a danger in riding a motorcycle with a fly swatter affixed to the helmet like that. Other motorists upon seeing that might start laughing so hard they could potentially crash into the cyclist or possibly another vehicle or pedestrian. No self respecting cyclist or biker would use a rube goldberg like contraption like that. Solution to bugs in teeth? Keep mouth closed or wear a full face helmet or one like shes got with a plexi-glass shield. But the fly swatter IS cute and she makes it so ʘ_ʘ

Manny Navarro is a good sports columnist. I don't know how he really feels about RS but I firmly believe if he came out and wrote a scathing anti-Shannon column about why Shannon needs to be fired, the editor in chief would call him into his office and give him hell and send him back to his office(if he has one) But Manny ultimately knows who puts montequellia on his pan.
Coaching comparison: How Shannon stacks up
Miami Hurricanes fans are tired of mediocrity. They're tired of losing big games. And some (I'd say a majority) are ready and hopeful Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon will be handed a pink slip after this season. They've seen Shannon's record against ranked opponents (4-9), seen that he has yet ...
I'd be willing to bet that most of the Randy Shannon apologists who strive to minimalize Randy Shannons defects and shortcomings and repeatedly point out his strong points are the same people who worshipped Larry Coker. Many of them to this day think Coker could have turned this team around if given the chance.
Shannon plays the blame game. Only once has he come out and said "This loss is on me. My fault."
What about the fiasco at the end of the Emerald Bowl that was supposed to be a two minute drill? This team was NOT PREPARED for a 2 minute drill?
Then I watched as Shannon shifted the blame on Nix and gave excuses about our inexperience at QB. Shannon! Even HS QB's know 2 minute drills. RS should have overseen and made SURE Nix had his charges executing this fundamental but monumentally important aspect of the game. That was when I knew.....
Due to my health I can no longer attend games but I do watch on TV and I digitally record almost every game. This past week against VT we got outcoached but that is not the sole reason why we lost. We were the victims of highway robbery. It was obvious midway through the 2nd quarter that the officials working this game had orders from something/someone that Miami was NOT to even sniff victory in that game. In that sense the officials did a fine job carrying out that dubious mission. I just feel sorry for the kids and even for Shannon too. He still needs replacing though.

Manny, is Seantrell Henderson with the team now? Is there any info out there on how he looks? Does he have good feet? Is he in shape? One other thing, is he gonna get red-shirted? I sincerely hope not.
Are Thearon Collier, Steven Wesley off the team?
Rumors began spreading this afternoon on University of Miami fan internet message boards that receiver Thearon Collier and defensive end Steven Wesley have been dismissed from the team for academic reasons. The Miami Herald has made multiple phone calls and sent text messages to UM officials ...
It must be hell covering the Canes with Randy Shannon being so secretive about everything. I understand why he might not trust the print media but I think he takes this a little too far. He is overly paranoid.

I have to wonder if this regime is going to roll the dice on Ginn for one more year. I personally hope not and think not but NY TEAM THAT REACHES FOR PAT WHITE IN THE 2ND ROUND is capable of just about anything. I think Pat White(bless his soul)
was a huge waste of a #2 round pick even though it was our 2nd second rounder, it don't matter.
Connecting dots on Parcells, Payton, Brees ...
Good column by Randy Galloway of the of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram today in connecting the dots between Bill Parcells, Sean Payton, Drew Brees, and even Wade Phillips. Payton this week talked to Parcells on a couple of occasions and then showed him respect in the media by talking of his learn...

Page 2 call: Five least welcome in South Florida

#1. Larry Coker
#2. Donna Shalala UM president will be satisfied with mediocrity in the UM fb program. Took the huge donation made by the Edge and instead of putting it toward the football program she BUYS Cedars of Lebanon hospital. Plus she raised the academic requirements making it more difficult for the coach to attract and land recruits..
#3. Paul Dee(I know he's still in CG) for giving Coker big bucs to keep him from bolting to the NFL.(snicker) Then allowing Coker to fire some great assistants who were the heart and soul of the UM just to save his own lame back side.
#4. Dave Wannstadt
#5. Rick Spielmmann
