This is devastating news...the world just lost another young kid. My thoughts and prayers are with Kendall's family and friends. I hope whoever committed this horrible crime rots in jail for the rest of their life.

This is embarrassing to say the least: http://www.fauowlsnest.com/blog/fau-wins-at-work-in-progress-stadium C'mon man!

Well, let me chime in with my observations (I am a student and fan of FIU): 1) Thank you FAU fans for showing FIU fans how to yell when your team is on defense. I wish our crowd would learn how to do that too. The presence of the FAU fans gave the game a real college atmosphere, unlike most FIU games (with the exception of the South Florida game last year) 2) Attendance was atrocious, and cold is no excuse. Sixty degrees is warm weather for almost any other part of the U.S. this time of year. Most Big Ten schools pack their stadiums during the snow/cold rain in winter, even against much inferior opponents. 3) I am optimistic that the team will improve next year with Wes at the helm. Paul is a great warrior, but Wesley Carroll looks like he brings more skills to the table. I wish Paul and the rest of the seniors good luck in their future endeavors. I know that you guys will win bigger battles in life than this. Things will get better...For the time being, we just have to endure and believe in our team. Confidence will go a long way! Go FIU!

I hoped I wouldn't be hearing some poor guy say "another touchdown and a dismal loss" again on Saturday, but my guess is that he will be back. ULL 36 FIU 27

Now that I'm done reading your manifesto, I agree with every point you made.

Yeah, I don't see us beating ULL, FAU, Middle. and UF. I try to be optimistic, but I think some of these guys have already thrown in the towel for this season. I do think we will beat North Texas, though, as they have been our punching bag in recent seasons (no matter how much we suck). Final record: 2-10

We are ranked 112th in CBSSports.com's 120. We have the 117th ranked total defense and 99th ranked total offense.

Its a shame to say that even a few player have said the are going to ask for their release. Posted by: blkpanther | October 25, 2009 at 10:41 PM Who has said this? Where are you getting this info from blkpanther?

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic performance! We gave up 279 rushing yards to a 1-4 team. The final score was way too close, as ASU had many attempts in the red zone where they either turned the ball over or committed stupid penalties. The score should have been more like 40-10. All I have to say is that this team really sucks. There's no other way to put it. PG better make some decisions or we are definitely going to lose some of our verbal commits. Its going to be tough for MC to sell a 2-10 team at the end of the season to a three-four star recruit who is deciding between FIU and better, more established programs like UGA, UM, Ole Miss, etc. I will be at the halloween game in my FIU gear to support the team, but I might bring my textbooks with me because it might be quiet enough to study.

Look at this video of Jernigan's TD...the attempted tackles are what really bothers me. http://www2.dothaneagle.com/dea/troy_blog/comments/jernigans_td_against_fiu/101970/

Wayne Younger and Jacory Harris shouldn't even be in the same sentence. Ugh...Wayne Younger...winless as a quarterback...0-10...

The entire defense should get 0 paws, as they are the 120th ranked defense in the nation. A group of cardboard cutouts could tackle better than some of these clowns.

That was a great post CarolinaGoldenPanther. I don't understand the need to bash UM when it is evident that only about 3-4 of their fans come on to this board to talk trash about FIU. If you go to the UM boards, nobody is mentioning FIU because no one cares about FIU over there. Why can't we do the same? Also, there is no comparison between UM and FIU at this point. One is a perennial national power with multiple national championship trophies and hall of fame alumni while the other is five years removed from the start of its football program and most known for instigating a brawl with the other. It will take 15-20+ years for FIU football to get the point where such comparisons can be made.

To those of you predicting a 5-7 or 6-6 season, what makes you think that we will win against Ark St, Middle Tennessee, ULL, and FAU/UNT??? That's ridiculous. The FAU and UNT games can go either way, but we are worse than the other three teams. Not only that, but we play Ark St. and Middle away. What next, are you predicting a top 25 finish as well? Just some perspective... We are currently the 112th ranked team in the nation out of 120. Statistically, we have the worst defense in the nation to this poiont (120/120). There's nothing wrong with being a homer, but C' MON man!

MTSU is a great sunbelt team, they've beaten memphis and maryland. Ark St is a good team and we play them at their house. They have a mobile quarterback and run a ton, which we can't stop this year. Besides, we play them at their house (which they fill with 20,000 plus fans consistently) North Texas is much improved this year, like we were last year, and have an explosive offense. Good thing is that we play them at home. This game can go either way. ULL always beats us for some reason. They are 2-0 in conference and 4-2 overall and beat Kansas State. Like UNT, we get them at home which is a plus. But I don't think our defense will stop their O. FAU always plays us hard even if they suck. They returned a lot of starters from last year, including Rusty at quartback. This will go either way I think. I won't even mention UF because that will not be pretty. I think 5 win predictions are ridiculous when you look at the level of competition we will be playing. I expect 2-3 wins max this season, with the real possibility of 1-11 if we are very unlucky.

I forgot to mention Arkansas State, a team that is right up there with Troy. They took 7-0 Iowa down to the last seconds of the game.

Big East on line 1. I think we will go 1-11 or 2-10 if we manage to beat North Texas at home. We will be hard pressed to win against ULL, Middle Tennessee, or FAU. We will not win at Florida. A win against UNT is attainable, but they are looking mighty good on offense even though they are 1-5 like us. Also, I don't think our offense is good. Yeah sure we have scored points, but most of those points have come in garbage time when the other team was up by 17 or more points and the defense was relaxed. You have to admit that Troy gave us a lot of our points tonight with all of their turnovers (especially) and penalties to extend our drives on 3rd down. We should have lost by 20 points. Same with the Rutgers game when they allowed the late touchdowns with less than 5 minutes in the 4th quarter.

Wes Kendall: I don't think FIU could afford the black pants. That was a pretty embarassing showing by our team tonight. The turnout was really sad, considering this was a special blackout game against the best team in the conference. Our defense is playing as poorly as ever, and what really bothers me is that I saw a bunch of them laughing and joking around on the sidelines after defensive series in which they allowed touchdowns. One would think that they would be angry about their performance or going over blown assignments with the defensive coaches, right? I'm starting to question this team's discipline and the overall direction of the program for the future. Our attendance is horrible and this team may go 1-11 or 2-10, which will not bode well for recruiting or future student interest in the team. What do you guys think? This sucks. It pains me to think about about what Middle Tennessee, ULL, Florida, FAU, and UNT are going to do against our paper thin defense.

I think 15,000 will be there easy. These are two schools in which the entire neighborhood rallies behind their respective team. Some of these guys are treated like celebrities already.
