We were rained/snowed out of our May Long camping plans this weekend (no surprises there really, May long weekend has notoriously bad weather - we have just managed to luck out the past few years and had made somewhat of a tradition of camping in Jasper Park over May Long).... Continue reading

The littlest hiker led us down one of my all-time favourite hiking trails last weekend: Bergeron Falls in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. Well, she led the way at the exact moment this photo was taken anyways. Most of the time she hiked she was sandwiched in between my husband, mother-in-law... Continue reading

This is how I was greeted at home the morning of my birthday. When I ran up to the house tired and sweaty, my husband and daughter were sitting on lawn chairs on the front lawn holding that GO MOM sign and I just about died (from cuteness, although the... Continue reading

I had the pleasure of spending Friday morning visiting a new-to-me greenhouse with this lovely lady and our two wee ones. We had originally planned to go walking, but after she saw online that the greenhouse was serving free Crooked Creek donuts and lemonade for Mothers Day weekend we obviously... Continue reading

Sunday's race wasn't actually a Mothers Day specific race, like there were a lot of males and non-mom racers too of course because it's the Brian Harms memorial race in town, but it is held on Mothers Day Sunday and all the mom's are handed a long stem flower after... Continue reading

Another lighter week with a rest day and a race, that ended with getting sick. The week started off so good though (and the race at the end went great too!). We started doing a new hills workout on the bike that has us some running brick intervals on the... Continue reading

Sliced apple and peanut butter yogurt dip! Emery and I share this snack almost every day. It's actually really weird that I didn't have any the day I did myfitnesspal check-up, so I have no idea what it amounts to calorically or anything like that. All I know is that... Continue reading

Yah it should take about 3 hours! We want to come back to New Zealand so badly, and will most definitely be visiting you when this trip eventually does happen. :) An ocean swim would be a dream!
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the feedback! If you give yourself a "check-up" leave me a comment with how it goes! :)

Hey Leigh! I actually don't think I mentioned what length the tri is on here yet. In June I'm doing an Olympic distance triathlon which is 1500m swim- 40k bike- 10k run. I've only ever done sprint distance races before so far which are half as long! Thanks for asking :)

Another week of no rest days, and 6/7 days were double-days! This week of training ended up being a ton of swimming, lots of biking, many un-recorded long walks with friends/family and not much running. I only ran twice this week with a long run on the schedule for Saturday... Continue reading
