At the end of the Summer I was on a mission to clean up my yarn basket before the cooler weather brought about knitting season. My basket was overflowing with odds and ends that I rolled up and packed into a bag to tote around with my the last few... Continue reading

Here we are leaving the house to meet up with family to go trick or treating in true toddler style, which basically just means the most ridiculous way possible haha. It's an adventure every time we head down the front steps ;) How far can she lean out on one... Continue reading

I'm taking us back to our September long weekend in Tumbler Ridge today. To a glorious weekend of Autumn hiking with my parents, husband and little girl. The weekend had a terrible weather forecast but we decided to brave it anyways and we ended up seeing the sun way more... Continue reading

This delightful little drink is what I've been carrying around with me every single day for the past few months since I bought a bulk amount of lemons and limes and chopped them up for easy access in my freezer. When life gets busy good hydration can be one of... Continue reading

It's still snowing. Day 4 and my front yard is blanketed so I think that means it's time I wrap up Summer on this here blog with photos from one of my favourite days of August. One of my superstar mama friends and I had plans to go out to... Continue reading

Apparently 3 weeks of Fall is all we get this year! The top photo was taken last night around 4:30 as my husband and I walked to my parents house after class/work to see Emery, and the bottom photo was taken just 24 hours earlier as I went running with... Continue reading

Happy Belated Canadian Thanksgiving! I'm still turning turkey leftovers into soup over here, and I hope you are too. Seriously what beats turkey leftovers? You're right- pumpkin pie leftovers... but those are long gone. We spent our Thanksgiving weekend with family - SO MUCH of family - in Edmonton and... Continue reading

We celebrated FIVE years of marriage mid-September and my husband surprised me with a quick anniversary trip to the city! He arranged for Emery to stay with his sister (I truly have the greatest sister-in-laws) and booked us a night stay in a fancy hotel. We have this tradition where... Continue reading

Thank you Leigh I am so glad you enjoy reading it! I definitely love writing and sharing in this space. As for the busy-ness, being busy is definitely my sweet spot! Some people are great at focusing on few areas and really excelling at those, but I am and always have been a dabbler- always doing different things, hopping from one to the next. :)

THIS is the playground mobile. Our beloved Chariot stroller (which converts to a bike trailer). The specific stroller model that we own is the Cougar, which is ironic because on this particularly picturesque Autumn morning of riding there was a cougar roaming the trails as well. We saw no signs... Continue reading

I love blog posts about the little things in life. The things that don't make up an entire post on their own, and aren't entered around a certain topic, but are just snippets of life. Reading them always humanizes the blogger to me and makes me feel more connected. However,... Continue reading

It's been a while since I've blogged. In that time, I've gone back to college full-time, my husband has started his first year of teaching, Emery turned 2 years old, the cross country running season started up again for the Fall, the leaves have yellowed, my mom and I have... Continue reading

Now, I don't know what your definition of sugar is. For me it's the white crystals that I try to stay away from, not glucose in general. My body runs on glucose! So although these cookies are sweetened (with either agave nectar or honey) I named them "sugar-free" because they... Continue reading

This weekend was crazy. We travelled to Manning for my cousins wedding on Saturday, then left the reception during the dance to drive to Peace River where my friend hosted us in her new apartment so we could wake up early to be at the pool for the Peace River... Continue reading

The song "Stolen" from Dashboard Confessional's album Dusk and Summer has been the soundtrack to the end of Summer for me since 2007, the year I met my husband and he played it for me. We fell in love that Summer, the Summer before I entered High School, so it... Continue reading

Our desire to hike to the top of Opal Peak was set last Summer after we hiked the Opal hills trail loop and found ourselves going well beyond the trail to the knoll between Opal Peak and Sinking Ship ridge (which you can clearly see in the photo above, Opal... Continue reading

We started off our Jasper Park adventure by summiting Bald Hills the first day. My husband hadn't hiked it with us the first time I did, which was two years ago, when I was rocking a big ol' baby belly and he was training for the death race. So my... Continue reading

My husband and I backpacked the Skyline trail 3 years ago with two of our favorite friends. We hiked it over 3 days, camping 2 nights (night one at Signal Mtn. and night two at Snowbowl, for anyone else interested in doing it) and I blogged about the trip breaking... Continue reading

We just got home late last night from our mountain holiday adventure. This list of weekly workouts may appear pathetic, but that's only because I didn't keep track of all the hiking, kayaking and otherwise general non-stop moving (like daily walking trips to the swimming pool, ice cream shop and... hmmm.. depends on my patience levels for the day Leigh, haha! She's often up on the counter with me sticking her fingers in the bowl and driving me crazy :) Nap-time baking is a lot more relaxing.

I've been prepping for ten days in the mountains the only way I know how: baking banana bread, berry muffins and peanut butter cookies. I'm fueled by tea and ready for adventure! xo. Continue reading
