I can knit a select amount of things, and am working on growing the list, but my Granny can knit all the things and she is my knitspiration. These raw wool sweaters really take the cake of knit presents she's given my family: Amazing! xo. Continue reading

The adventures in sewing continue! I'm currently scavenging through my closet for items that I don't wear that could either be re-purposed or altered. I used this sweater vest to make two pairs of mittens: First, I traced a pair of mittens I already own onto a piece of paper,... Continue reading

We are currently having the most beautiful streak of winter weather so over the weekend my friend Ashley and I took advantage and went for a long walk through the woods, while our husband's rock climbed together in my basement of course. I've been wanting to learn to sew for years. It's a necessary skill for a crafter and I love how practical home-sewn gifts are. But gosh did sewing machines intimidate me! Still do, but now that I can thread the machine and the bobbin with my eyes closed (not really)... Continue reading

I am so thankful! Sleep deprivation is the worst. Just praying that teething won't mess up this wonderful sleeper of a baby that we have now!

Haha oh if only there was a secret to making babies sleep! Emery has been all over the map, she was a terrible sleeper as a new born and then at 6 weeks I brought her from the bassinet into bed with us and she immediately stopped waking up to nurse and slept through the night. All she wanted was a cuddle buddy. She'd wake sometimes and I would just rub her back until she settled, then soon she stopped waking at all for 10-12 hours. So far this week she has slept 11-12 hours in her crib for two nights and back in bed with us for two nights because I couldn't get her to stay asleep in her crib. Which I totally don't mind because she sleeps like a dream in bed beside me and I have no agenda or deadlines for getting her crib trained.

I knit my mother-in-law a blanket for Christmas. I tried hard to get it all in one photo, she grabbed the other end together for the next photo and it still didn't quite fit but you get the idea. I knit it in five strips like big scarves that were... Continue reading

We went straight home from church on Sunday to decorate our Christmas tree!
