I started listening to Cory's version earlier this year but drifted away from it despite it being utterly fascinating. This has spurred me on to get my ass in gear and just buy a copy, thanks :)

Can't believe the Author's Guild is panicking about this, are they actually time travellers from the Victorian Era, terrified of the electronic witchcraft? They're never going to win a fight against technology, just point them towards the RIAA's less than stellar record - the only way to win is embrace it and work with it. Ah hell, at least it gives us someone to laugh at for a while :)

I'm constantly amazed by The Onion, I remember discovering it many moons ago and wondering how long they'd be able to keep it up. I mean there was no way they could possibly keep delivering material of the calibre of "Holy Shit, Man Walks On Fucking Moon!" was there? Glad they've proved me wrong. Some of their election coverage was beyond genius and made the likes of The Daily Show pale in comparison.

Damn you and Boing-Boing all to hell Wheaton! I saw that tee on Threadless's newsletter the other day and resolved to pick it up once my paycheck hit my bank account. Now I have to bakrupt myself to grab it now before the rest of the geek army descends on the site and clears it out!

You should check out a fellow called Jeff Klein if he ever plays anywhere near you. He plays with the Twilight Singers and Gutter Twins but also does his own solo shows where he's been doing the same layering trick with an acoustic guitar and a few pedals for the past 5 years or so. He has a wonderful break in his voice and his songs are drenched with heartache, loss and a nice dash of vitriol... Will have to track down more of Zoe's stuff, always loved the sound of a cello and her music has a beautifully haunting quality. Cheers for the tip.

Nice list except for U2. They invented bad music. Boring music. Music for late-40s guys to listen to while driving badly in their BMWs. If U2 was a character in Top Gun they'd be Slider. If Bono was a type of cookie he'd be an ass cookie with tasty ego chunky bits. I don't like U2.

Thanks for the review, I can sleep at night now. Going to re-read Watchmen next week then planning a cinema expedition. It's my birthday on the 5th of March, my band has a gig on the 6th and I'm going to see the movie on the 7th, what a few days... Must admit that I came late to the party, only really got into comics a few years back but Watchmen was one of the first I read. Totally blew me away and I'm so glad they haven't gang-raped it for the big screen. You know what I'd really like to see given a good big screen treatment though? DMZ. That would be awesome. Oh, and The Five Fists Of Science, Transmetropolitan, The Walking Dead, etc, etc, etc :)
