You are so right, a homes layout can make a small home feel big and vice versa. Our 1150 sq ft home in Calgary fit us perfectly because the layout was so suited to our lifestyle and our current 2000+ sq ft home is much bigger, but the layout is just not suited to us. Great point!! :-)
a little peek into our dining room
This is the view from our living room into our dining room. The dining room hasn't come together as easily as the other rooms in the house because it's just so crazy big. The room is probably the biggest in the house and we aren't formal dining room people. Maybe it's because there are only 4...
Hi Kerri, the white trim colour is Cloud White from Benjamin Moore. Thanks for asking!
home tour: the girls room
Yesterday I shared some of the renovation process and the "before" photos of our little munchkins room and today is the big reveal!! I did their new room again in pink, similar to our old house, but this time I used Benjamin Moore's Mellow Pink which is a more true light pink with no peachy unde...
Hi Karen, Im totally with you about a home holding so many memories it would be hard to leave. I still miss our home in Calgary dearly because it was the only house our girls ever knew and we had all their firsts there. I cant wait until we find our next home, which will hopefully be our forever home, and a place that we can build new memories. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Kim, the paint colour is Gray Cloud 2126-60 by Benjamin Moore. Thanks for asking! I should do up a new house paint colour page. I really love the colours I used in the house vs our old house because I think I needed the change and using lighter colours fit the bill perfectly! :-)
home tour: the bathroom
Here it is, our finished bathroom! Remember the before photos? It's sure come a long way. Next to our kitchen the main bath reno is one of my favourites. I absolutely loved how the room turned out, especially considering what it used to look like. We changed everything in this room. We took t...

Thank you everyone for all your great suggestions!!! Definitely lots of food for thought. I'll keep you posted on what we decide to do. :-)
the living room mantel
I'm typically a paint-it-white trim work kind of girl and have been debating on whether or not to paint the trim work in this house since we've moved in. However, as time has passed the dark rich trim has really grown on me. I'm kind of liking its rich character and appreciate the old world c...

new living room curtains
I know I haven't posted a full living room tour yet, but I was so excited about finally finding the perfect window coverings for the room I just had to share! The living room window is pretty big, 4 windows wide, so I decided to use a total of 4 curtain panels just in case I ever wanted to...

a trip to the local agricultural fair
Towards the end of spring break last week we decided to take a couple of days and head over to the agricultural fair for some good family fun and boy did we ever have a blast! The girls absolutely loved getting up close to all the animals, munching on the yummy fair food and watching...
Thanks Jay! We are looking at a little hobby farm on Sunday so who knows, fingers crossed it might be the one!!
