To downsize your stash you have to harden your heart and be prepared for the grief and tear that will follow. I have done mine in stages. It is still hard but my kids will just give it all to St. Vinnies when I am gone. This way I have been able to gift most of it to my friends and I have the satisfaction of knowing each piece has gone to a good home.

Hi Lesley, Yes I love Gay eaton’s book and have stitched a number of Wessex stitchery designs. My problem is I can’t make them look as radom as she does. Mine end up so precise. I really love living on the island and I’m sure that when all the adjustments are made to the house etc it will be just perfect. Wish I could make some adjustments to the husband, that isn’t as easy.

It was terrible! I went into the deepest depression. I think I might have an addiction problem.

It seems like forever since I was able to log onto Typepad. The saga of errors on the part of our internet provider reads like a soapy but today, Saturday, all my emails started to flood in and I was... Continue reading

We have moved into our new house and asked Telstra to move our telephone and internet connections over. "how long will it take?" we asked. "Only three days," was the reply. After five days and no action I went into... Continue reading

I am putting myself under a lot of pressure but I just couldn't sit and look at all those unpacked boxes. So it is done. I have unpacked everything possible. I am still waiting for my bookshelves to be assembled... Continue reading

I am such a control freak. My children just say “Yes Mother” and do what they want and not the way I want it done. Makes life interesting.

St Anthony gets a hammering from me as does St. Mary McKillop.

I think I will need some divine intervention here. So far I can’t locate my Canon EOS 50D Camera, some jewellery and a set of Recorders is various sizes from treble through to the bass. But I have found my laptop.

That is what life is at the moment. We have to move into our new home and were unable to get a moving company to come over to the island to do the job. Instead our children are doing it... Continue reading

The best solution so far has been a rectangle with the casing already attached at each end. That leaves the 2 side seams and then top stitch around the base of the casing. I’m having a few problems getting that casing right.

I finished the third sample for the Children's Holiday class, the penguin, who is for those who have stitched before. The outline stitching isn't very hard but it takes time to attach the bow tie and place the beads in... Continue reading

I have had non malignant growths is both knees and had them removed twice now. Each time they take a bit more of the ligaments. This has left me a bit unstable on my feet and I know they have grown back again because I just can’t bend much at the knees. But if I have any more removed I will be even worse off so I have decided to just put up with it. I can still walk and that is the most important thing. But I’m sure getting older has a lot to do with it as well. And yes, it has crept up on me.

This getting older is very depressing. I went fishing yesterday and found I couldn't scramble over the rocks like I used to do before I broke my foot. I had to sit down first and then climb down. Depressing. Today... Continue reading

That would be the best solution but I have to get it on the barge to the dealer and back again. Bill is still in a wheelchair and I will have to put that off for at least a month or so. I think I will buy a little step from Ikea or Aldi and keep it in the Ute in the mean while. I used to be able to drive one of these monsters all over the place when I lived in the country. I’m a bit worried about driving it in city traffic. Oh dear, it brings home that I am getting older and all that entails.

I have had the shark thing before and I always cut the line. If it is a little one I pull it in and clean it. But big ones are hard to kill and dangerous even on dry land.
