Yes, it can do so many things. I like how you can sew it in a circle, with a short or long tail and then it fits together very well.

I know that the cool weather is coming but gee I wish it would put on some speed. Summer this year has been very hot and tiresome. Up until this year I have been able to handle high temperatures. I... Continue reading

Hi Lesley, I trained myself to use the iPad and computer screens. I didn’t like them at first but now I prefer them. I had to do this to support my teaching as an ‘Innovative Apple teacher’. This is what kids relate to better than print on paper and now I have most of my books on kindle. Your hanging sounds interesting. The Indian bedcovers I bought were stitched with Kantha but when I looked into where they were stitched it was Rajistan, the other side of the continent. The labour must be cheaper.

I have made a rod for my back with these presents. I have been making them for about 15 years now and they are expected. Not nearly as nice as doing something spontaneously.

for myself I want to make some modern Kogin designs once I get teaching samples under control. Thing is I have to have NEXT years samples ready to send out in June. A bit of pressure there. ,

I have been stitching, but not a lot to show for it. I have been playing around with fly stitch. I flattened it out and then made that centre holding stitch small and sent it on a walk. (On right)... Continue reading

I find some of the accents a bit off putting as well and some I just don’t know what they are saying.

I cut out 5 projects that I am sewing for Easter Presents for my quilting buddies but they have been languishing on the design board. They are small bags but I needed something to close the flap. I thought about... Continue reading

I had a beginners class on Saturday. It was full of students who were quite accomplished embroiderers. They though that because they were 'self taught' they were beginners. I often wonder why I put so much work into preparation of... Continue reading

This is a fantastic resource. I hope some of the other museums do the same. On 18 Feb 2017, at 7:34 am, Typepad wrote:
I have to put finishing class sample and preparing for a Kogin exhibition ahead of pleasure but I will get to it. Eventually.

My grandmother used to say I was ‘fey”.
I came across and interesting article on the Metropolitan Museum's Web page that states the will have an "Open Access Policy" to images they believe are in the public domain. So I put in 'Medieval Textiles' and an 'good' image... Continue reading

I just couldn’t believe my luck when I saw the little dolls. They were being used as display pieces to make the clothing look attractive. I am getting quite a collection of trolleys. One is always in the car, just in case.

On the road again and this time the destination was Toowoomba. Always a good hunting ground. There are lots of interesting shops, artists, gardens and Op shops. The Op shops were first on the list after I had attended to... Continue reading

I was visiting a group who were staying and as this was my first visit I was impressed. I was in Toowoomba a few days later and the shop in Warwick has very competitive prices. The trees have some way to go. At the moment they are eating lots of thread.

This is one of those pieces that keeps asking for more. I still have quite a bit to give it but I don’t want to “over feed’ the beast.

I thought I was finished with this book cover but I decided to change the stitching and use it for my "Exploring More Stitches" class. I was only going to do small inserts of detail and perhaps those in the... Continue reading

I received a lovely book as a gift from my friend Angela. I had a look on Amazon and I can see that it is quite sort after, prices starting at $125 US! It has some really interesting work in... Continue reading

I love working with my new wool thread, although I'm hoping that the moths will hate it. Anyway I thought I would have a look around to see what was being stitched in wool thread. Well there was all the... Continue reading
