There is something about dragon flys that I love and the simplicity of the Japanese design is lovely.

Sometimes I look at a piece of embroidery and think how melodic the piece looks. The balance is just right along with the other elements and principles of design. It is just like a piece of music. Artist Zsanett Zsirmay... Continue reading

My mother died when I was a teenager and my father died before the children were born. My husband was an only child of elderly parents so they had passed on as well. I had loved all my grandparents and they had played a major role in my life up to their deaths when I was about 20. I knew what my children were missing out on. And then Rell came along. She was a true Aunty Maime character and was such a special part of all our lives. I’m sure that your parents were appreciated also.

My friend is unforgettable. She was a grandmother to my children when they had non. She was the widow of a Government Cabinet Minister and the people who visited her were some of those who stared on the world stage. It was a wonderful learning experience for my children and I loved her.

That is only the photo. I can see lots of uneven stitching. But the more I do the better my stitching will be.

I had a neighbour once who's name was Narelle but we always called her Relli. Both our properties backed onto an old house that had been divided into flats with a rather motley group of tenants. Then one day the... Continue reading

A bit more social stitching has taken place and I have finished stitching the second set of Sashiko coasters. All have been cut to size along with the wadding. I now have to decided just what I will use as... Continue reading
