As per usual I grossly under estimated the amount of work in the borders. I thought I would be finished by now but I have only finished the inner border. This inner border is worked in single faggot stitch. Now,... Continue reading

She has another book called “Shetland Oo, Wool Textiles, work.” Not a knitting pattern in it but a series of essays about the crafts people of the island and what they produce. Both Kate and her husband Tom are academics who have given away university life . She designs knitting he takes wonderful photos. They bring all that academic rigour and knowledge to their work. Both are in their early 40’s.

I hate not being able to do something. This stitched has bugged me since I was a young teenager and I have had various attempts at mastering it. This time I will keep at it till I get it right, even if it kills me.
It sure is.

Another one hits the dust! Yoo Hoo. The book-cover is finished and constructed. I doubted this design would stitch up as I had imagined it in my mind. (A5 book size.) My direct inspiration for this is the tree trunks... Continue reading
