I thought I would show you my new workspace - yes its true I have taken over our dining room - and I love it - nice and bright and lots of sunshine. Below - my wall of fame lol. I love having all the disparate type of work one next to the other So - go make some art -... Continue reading

Here in Montreal spring is starting to show itself. On Friday, the sun was out and the air was warm-ish - not yet a spring warm but pretty close to it. As I drove to my class after a morning of coffee and cleaning up my studio from my work the night before I thought - wow I am here. I am here. This is what I always dreamed of doing - running my own business - making art every day and "playing" with friends as I teach my art in my live classes. Now don't tell anyone I told... When I received the email from Do What You Love about creating a post on why I love paper well I just had to say yes. Paper is my favorite subject after alll. I am constantly in search of new papers - papers with great color, texture, and paper in all sizes. If I had to pick one thing that inspires me to create a piece I would say it has to be the paper. I am not always sure what I am going to do with the new pieces I find but I know I am going to make... Continue reading

The benefit of teaching in person is that I find out all kinds of things I may not have found out otherwise. When talking to one of my students recently she told me that she loves working with my videos that are available on CD. She said that when she just wants to get to a class she doesn't want to have to load her pc, look for the site, find her password, download the class etc etc and so she just finds that just plugging in the CD itself is so much easier. And I thought - wow -... Continue reading

I have a new, fun, and relaxing workshop which opens up today on a new hosting site. Just trying to mix things up a bit and offer workshops to one and all. I do have a preview of this workshop below. It's a little different than my other workshops and not a piece that I have shown alot here on my blog but I have to say I have done many of these pieces for myself, in my journal and now on canvas as we will do in this workshop. So have a look at the preview and some nice... Continue reading
