You know how I am - once I get onto something I am obsessed and just can't stop. Some of them start from sketches ...Some of them just come together as I go. There is a lot of info on the web about the new surge in embroidery and how it is no longer your grandmothers' embroidery. I think I am right there with them. I suppose what I do is called "freehand", modern embroidery. But here's how it goes for me... Some of the ideas comes from sketches Some of them start from inspiration from my ever growing stashes... I mentioned a few posts back that some of my collage work is sold here locally at Maison Fusion in Pointe Claire Village. The pieces are doing well and so I cooked up another batch to bring over. Although not obvious from my picture taking skills these are on 10 x 10 x 2 wood cradle panels so there is also collage work on the side which I failed to take pics of ; ). Also these have about 6 layers of varnish on them so the glare makes picture taking very difficult. If you would like to know more... Continue reading

For those of you following me on facebook you may have noticed that I have gone stitch crazy. I always had embroidery, crochet and tatting on my list of creative things to try and I finally got to it. I'm not sure what led me to wanting to try this... it may have been the images of stitched pieces on pinterest, it may have been the crochet jewelry I always admired by Emma Cassis - I'm not really sure how it started but I can tell you I am absolutely obsessed. Check out my very populated Stitchery Pinterest board here.... Continue reading

As some of you may know I do some work for one of the cutest little boutiques in Pointe Claire Village here in Montreal. It is called Maison Fusion and it is filled with homewares, soft goods and hard goods and the owners are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Here are some pieces that you can pick up there when you are in the area. For my other US friends, I am working on some more pieces that will soon be in my shop for you. These are all collage pieces on 8 x 10, 10... Continue reading

Part II of my Boho Journal. As I mentioned in Part I this journal was just so much fun to make. I was totally absorbed in this one. I think this is the first journal I've every actually finished and wished there were more pages. It was based on just cutting and pasting snippets of paper I loved and then being inspired by the patterns or colors on those papers. I just really let go and had lots of fun. In addition to the pictures below I posted a flip through video on my youtube channel. If you have not... Continue reading

Hi Susie, I should have mentioned this - I do use Yupo - regular paper will not work like this since it will simply absorb the inks~

I will show you more of my Boho journal shortly but I wanted to first show you yet another thing I have been working on. I started working with ink (and straws) a little while ago as I showed in this post but it's really hard to stop! You have to work on several at a time since the ink takes some time to dry! I gifted the above one to a friend You can see the one above is still wet - and I mean really wet I've done work on the above one since this time but I... Continue reading
Thank you Anni - I made the journal a long time ago and finally took the step to use it!

I have more pages to show you of yet another journal I have been working on. I have to say I had so much fun making this one and I would really like to share how this came together - I think I'd even like to do a class like this. So let me explain, I hadn't worked on a journal in a while so I went to Michaels and just randomly picked up papers and stickers and a bunch of stuff that I just liked. When I got home I sorted through everything and was really inspired primarily by... Continue reading

I know, I know - I've been away for a while - but the good news is I have been working on a lot of different things. Today I thought I'd share one of my 2017 journals. I actually worked in a journal I made myself and found I really enjoyed it. It's got a nice hard cover and thick watercolor paper inside so really easy to work with. Here are some of the pages inside: More to come on yet another journal I have been working in and also I'll be posting a whole slew of tags I've been... Continue reading
