One night I took my "If I don't see it ..." and my "personal goals" journal (see more posts on these journals here and here and here) and I decided to just add paint. I thought I was happy with the pages the way they were but then when I added paint I thought - how could I have thought those pages were finished. You've seen some of these pages before in various states of layers and colors but now I do believe some of these are finished! I always am drawn to squares on pages! Those birds on the... I am really dreaming in color these days - these are all done with copic and other brand markers. Imagination is inspiration .... This style is inspired Danielle Donaldson's work but with a very different color palette I would say. ;) I love these trees/bubbles... More random color all piled up - works in progress ... Some of these especially the one below are inspired by Desigual - do you know their line of clothes - just yummy. I hope this put some color in your day!! Cathy Continue reading

More journal pages. This is a different journal. It's the red one below. I think this book was actually meant to be like a photo album and the paper inside is really nice. This one is not finished yet but it's a good start. You'll see some pages of just backgrounds waiting for more. This journal is more personal than most. It's actually a compilation of quotes, my goals, my thoughts, some about me, things I like, lists, and pictures I like. I didn't add any of my comments below the pictures - just pictures for you to enjoy. Let... Continue reading

I am obsessed with my new pens, Danielle Donaldson's new book and my new watercolor pearlescent paints! I am obsessed with this new pen - the Mach 3 which I purchased at Jetpens.com. Absolutely love its fine point, smoothness and fluidity. You can draw thin, thin lines and lots of detail with them! Comes in lots of colors - I bought brown and blue - but I will be buying many more. I originally started with 1 black one and went back and bought 5 black and then the 2 blue and 2 brown I also bought these pearlescent watercolors... Continue reading

This is the continuation of my "If I don't see it I don't use it" journal which I talked about here and here. I am starting to really love this journal and at first I did not. But I have been working and reworking the pages I wasn't happy with and not I am almost there. Some pages now have written journal entries and some are still in the background only stages. pockets and pictures Love the quote ] the start of tissue paper cut outs color ... this will be the start of something good ... mushrooming ... Ever wonder how some people manage to find the time to be creative almost every single day? How do they do it? If you are a mother, a professional and/or whether you work full time or not - sometimes it’s difficult to actually sit down and take time for yourself to just create. The thing is that I have found that the more I create the better I get at it and the better I get at it the more I create. Art is really about practice, practice, practice, and I know that the more I practice, the more inspired... Continue reading

I am back to drawing every night while watching tv or sometimes just sitting at the kitchen table. No matter whether I am working full time or not - I seem to NEED to do something creative every day. (Read more in my newsletter this month about my new journey working full time and being creative - to sign up for my newsletter click here) Here are some sketches - all from just this week. Oh yes, I bought some new pens and markers and I'll share my review later this week. Craft paper hair, collaged and colored with marker... Continue reading
