Forward: The Plain Truth is that plant base hormone therapy is far superior to anything else to relieve serious hormonal issues. It is also much safer. The medical industry tends to go after any product that actually improves health. They have no problem letting doctors prescribe hormones that are made from horse urine and chemicals, and have thousands of injuries, not just 2! Millions of these prescriptions are given out monthly. synthetic blood levels can't even be monitored! That's not mentioned! The pharmaceutical comapanies have viciously gone after bioidenticals because they are inexpensive and can't be patented. Therefore less profit.... Continue reading

More reason to HATE BIG PHARMA! In an interview with the Financial Times, Nirmal Mulye, CEO of a small pharmaceutical company called Nostrum, defended his company's decision to raise the price of nitrofurantoin from $474.75 to $2,392. Nitrofurantoin is a drug that is highly effective at treating lower urinary tract infections. Mulye noted that a rival pharmaceutical company had a similar drug and had just increased the price by a similar amount. That's when the executive made the statement that is likely to revive the recent debate over high drug prices. via www.plaintruth.com Continue reading

Happy July - I hope this blog post finds you in good spirits on this, the first of July. For much of the U.S., it's a heatwave and so for those of you who are, like me, sensitive to the heat/humidity combo, make sure you keep hydrated, and if you don't have AC, be sure to keep your place as dark as possible and/or find places to camp out - like at the movies, the library, etc. And, of course, if you live near someone who is elderly, make sure you check in on them even if it's just to... People say not to be so sensitive — but when guys like this are slurring us ... (Image via TedHickman.com) The vice-mayor of Dixon, California, Ted Hickman, wrote an op-ed that declared July to be SPAM, “Straight Pride American Month.” It was adorned with a circular rainbow insignia with a slash through it. In the write-up, Hickman expressed his contempt for gay people in every way: via www.boyculture.com Continue reading

After backlash over the removal of tracks by R Kelly and XXXTentacion from official playlists, Spotify has been forced to rethink its new 'hate speech and hateful behavior' policy. But there are no easy choices. "It would be as wrong for Spotify to opt for the ‘neutral platform’ approach," writes Mark Mulligan of MIDiA, "as it would be ‘arbitrary' censorship." via www.hypebot.com Continue reading

I like and admire Pope Francis. Regular readers of my blog and columns know that, as do readers of a book I co-authored with the Rev. Dr. Paul T. Rock called Jesus, Pope Francis and a Protestant Walk into a Bar: Lessons for the Christian Church. So you might expect that I would find much to like in the new documentary movie about the pontiff, "Pope Francis: A Man of His Word." And I did enjoy many aspects of the film when I saw it Monday evening with my wife and friends. I especially loved seeing the pope alone in... Continue reading

(from the archives July 2014) Q: Is it offensive to refer to black people as "black" and/or "African American"? White people seem like they're walking on eggshells, and they say "African American" a lot (when people might be neither African nor American). A: I'm actually surprised that nobody remembers how the change originally occurred. In the late 80s when professors like Skip Gates was making a big splash at Harvard and Toni Morrison was the toast of the planet, a monumental book was published called the Norton Anthology of African-American Literature. Anyone who was paying attention would know and recognize... Continue reading
