I watched the first few episodes of Covert Affairs because it's filmed in Toronto, but dropped it. Maybe I'll give it another shot. I've looked Oded Fehr up before - I think when I watched those episodes.
"Covert Affairs" Goes to Israel
Those of us who have been watching the USA Network show "Covert Affairs," also sometimes known as "poor man's Alias, but with Piper Perabo playing gorgeous spy Annie Walker and with a hot blind guy working tech," have been delighted by the occasional appearance of Israeli actor Oded Fehr actuall...
Go Lex! I too look forward to hearing about your journey.
Fat AND Beautiful
I wrote this great piece recently that I was going to title Fat AND Beautiful. It was about the people who hear me say “I’m fat” and immediately jump to reassure me that I am, instead, beautiful. Now don’t get me wrong, I like hearing that I’m beautiful, and it’s very kind of them to be prote...
I agree, it was a fantastic evening. I'm not sure that I'd change anything either.
A Night In White & The Kindness Of Others
Wow. What a whirlwind my adventure at Diner en Blanc was! The “Plan” You see, about a month ago Joel had invited me to a dinner party on Sept 27th, but the invite was kind of cryptic. “Mysterious,” I thought and immediately said “yes”. But then life got in the way and my schedule got shifted,...
Remember a few years ago when you blogged that you're done with acting and insisted that you're now a "writer-slash-actor"? Yeah, fate is mocking you so hard. :D
You told the universe that you didn't care and it took care of you when the time was right. It gave you what you need, and now you're in a great place. It's heart-warming to see, especially after reading variation incarnations of your blog since nearly the beginning.
Maybe next year we'll get you at Fan Expo Toronto.
I've never been so grateful to be so exhausted.
"How are you feeling?" The question sounded like it had been asked by a person standing at the other end of an aluminum tube, possibly while underwater. "I can taste sound, and I can hear color," I said, only partially joking. "Can someone please turn down the sky?" It was just before 8 in the m...
This post is so full of awesome.
Jane White is Sick and Twisted is brilliant. I own it (though haven't watched it in years) and occasionally tell people about its brilliance. I'll check out the Nerdist podcast for sure.
In that photo of Felicia there's definitely dress visible on the left just at the edge of the frame, though you have to look closely, as I did. It's great to (finally) see a photo of one of the boys! Those of us who've been reading the blog since the start have read about them growing up. What a face. :)
On the meeting of Nathan Fillion (or: The Obligatory Comicon Post)
Comicon was awesome. The Eureka panel was funny and everyone in the audience seemed to enjoy themselves. The consensus from the cast and producers was that I did a good job moderating, and I felt like I managed to get out the talking points the network wanted me to get out under pain of death wi...
It's been 9 years since it was originally published? I've been reading your blog in its various form since around then (former Soapbox member, I am), so I've read the story many times. I never remember it from year-to-year so it always feels like I'm reading it for the first time. I probably imagine it differently with each read. It's a beautiful story. So vivid, so descriptive without adjective overkill, so full of emotion. I feel the story.
In that 9 years your boys have become men and 15 years has become 24. Next Independence Day will mark 25 years since that fireworks display. Will you commemorate it?
Because it's become a yearly tradition, here's a story about fireworks
I've written hundreds of thousands of words over the years, but this remains one of my all-time favorites, so I like to revisit it every year. It was originally written and published on July 5, 2002, which usually feels like years and days ago all at once, but this year actually feels like a lif...
Alyssa Milano did an exercise video. I had it. I don't know whatever happened to it. Maybe I threw it out out of embarrassment. I totally had a crush on her.
I also had Tina Yothers' Being Your Best: Tina Yothers's Guide for Girls (I had to look up the title). I remember taking it to camp one summer. I think I loaned it to a friend but never got it back.
garage discoveries
I spent a little time in the garage today, and was rewarded with a bunch of nifty discoveries, so I thought I'd share pictures of a few of them. All of these images can be clicked to embiggen them at Flickr, where you can learn more about them:
It will eventually get easier but for now keep feeling what you're feeling. I feel badly for Riley, who doesn't understand.
You will heal.
i can't think of a title, so i'll just say thank you
I once had a terrible case of the flu. In addition to the body aches and chills and stuff, I was puking my brains out all over the place all the time. The worst part of it was that it would happen with no warning; one second I was fine, and then I'd suddenly feel my stomach turn, and I'd be thro...
I'm so sorry! I'd have seen this earlier but got behind on my RSS feeds, which I'm sure you understand.
My deep condolences. I know how much you loved that dog. I've been reading about him for years!
through the fish-eyed lens of tear stained eyes
My dog Ferris, who was rescued from a bus stop in Monrovia by my wife Anne almost exactly 8 years ago, had a heart attack and died this morning. It happened very quickly, and I was with her, which is supposed to make me feel better, but at this moment all I can feel is nearly-unbearable sorrow, ...
Great post, Wil.
i never did national network tv interviews later on in life like the ones i did when i was twelve
When we filmed Stand By Me, none of us knew it was going to be the huge success that it became. None of us expected it to be part of that 50s revival that was so much fun in the mid-80s, and none of us knew that it would essentially launch all of our acting careers. But I think that, if you aske...
