Thanks for a good read. I referenced it on my blog recently - you nailed it!
Advice to Young Professionals
As a mid-career professional, I look back on my tenure in various organizations with a mixture of triumph and regret. Triumph because I’ve managed to achieve reasonable success, and regret because I lost a lot of time learning how to function within a workplace. I never had a mentor, though ther...
Even for Marxists, there is a wine god. Beautifully written post, Alice.
There are the big trees in this little old wine world, and no doubt, Joe is, was, one of them. But the little old wine world runs on an energy and a rhythm >1 .
Fear not, little sister, the wine gods are looking out for all their wines and creatures. Drink on. Write on!
Congratulations for London...
Joe
I was on a mountain top in Georgia, about 800 meters up, about to start tasting a variety of qvevri wines with about eighty of my new best friends when I got the text from Kevin. "Joe died this morning at home, at 1:45." I was squat on the stoop, a supra, a soon to be feast, spread out in back ...

I'd love to try them that way, away from lights and concrete with the smell of the mountain burning beyond.
thanks for sharing!
Mt. Etna Speaks (through Frank Cornelissen)
Welcome to a ridiculously rambling post about my day with Frank in London. "This morning is gone, the only thing I have is the future." Thus spoke Frank C. at the wine-centric restaurant Brawn, on a pre-natal street not far from the Bethnal Green tube stop. I don't know him for long, but that ...
My buds at Zaccagnini loved Sadat X's review when it came out.
Has it gotten down to this, that James Suckling can walk in a store and like the Amazing Kreskin, put the bottle in his hands and determine the quality (as evidenced in his world by a score or 90 or more?)
Jeesh - our world is really missing the point when it all comes done to them.
Suckling vs. Sadat X (the F****d Up Factor)
Deep Throat called me, breathed heavilly into my phone and said, Alice, babe, you know what you should do?" I couldn't resist. He/She was really correct. I have found the James Suckling video's, (where he goes on a points rampage, sizing all wines up by numbers, saying tea, sweet jam and ciga...
