That was beautiful. Every word.
This is a very, very good life, and I'm grateful for it.
It's quiet outside my office window, like the heat and humidity is sort of absorbing and muffling most of the sounds that usually come through during a typical Saturday morning. All I really hear is birds singing, the occasional drone of a distant train, and the low rumble of thunder out over th...
Happy anniversary you two. Here's to many more great years together. And thanks for the tingling on the left side of my head that hasn't stopped since I looked at the picc and read the post :)
to mark the passage of three thousand six hundred and fifty-three days together
We went to Napa for our tenth anniversary. For the record: being married to your best friend rules.
Good stuff, Wil. I've got geekbumps...er...goosebumps!
kyle + rosemary is finally online
I'm too busy to write about how incredibly awesome my trip to Seattle was, but I just found out that kyle + rosemary is online, and I want everyone in the world to watch it, because I'm so proud of it: Find more videos like this on Channel Frederator RAW (Thanks to reader squonkmama for the ...
I think this may be my favorite Wil Wheaton blog of all time.I'm trying to bust through a case of writers block so severe that at times I have felt like I might really, truly, never write again. Hearing you talk about(reading what you wrote) about Charlie taking over and telling you what happens....jeebus...it reminded me of the magic...reminded me that I'm not out here alone battli9ng this blockage...my characters-those already created, and those yet to gain fictional life-are trying to get me through this as well, because they have lives to live as well. Thanks Wil
bustin up my brains for the words
Did I mention that I'm writing a full-on science fiction novella that may even grow into a novel? It's a noir kinda thing, set in a dystopian future Los Angeles. (It's not Blade Runner. That's the first thing people think when I say it, but I'm keenly aware of that, and I've taken the appropriat...

I'm so happy for Robert Downey Jr. His substance/life abuse problems were the stuff legends...mostly dead legends... are too often made of. But he came out the other side, apparently mostly whole. Plus, he's always been my second choice to play me in the movie of my life. ;)
this is one hell of a geeky weekend
I just put the finishing touches on the note for the house sitter (my favorite new addition to the standard boilerplate: how to hook up Rock Band without messing up my tours) and I'm about to head out to San Diego for some awesome geekery this weekend. Before I leave, though, I had to say: Go se...

Sheesh...what a bunch of geeks.
Um...where do I sign up for the waiting list to be adopted :)
in which we get the band back together
Last night, Anne and I took our friend out to dinner for his birthday. We invited Nolan to come with us, but he said it would be "boring grown-up talking" and even though he loved us, he'd rather hang out at home. Allow me to translate: "Wait, I can go with three lame adults to a restaurant, or ...

A comment about worry from a former obsessive worrier...my first step towards managing my worry was when I realized..at about your age, that 99.999999999999% of all the things I had worried about in my life had NOT come to pass, and the .00000000000000000001& that had were things utterly out of my control .
in which i have a new challenge, and a new goal
I worry a lot. It's in my nature, and my doctors tell me that if I can't stop worrying so much, I'll have hypertension and high blood pressure. In fact, I'm already on my way there, and it's one of the main reasons I felt so lousy while I tried to recover from sinus surgery. More than anything e...

Wil... damn, that was an amazingly entertaining hour. Thanks.
audio from my performance at phoenix comicon
My performance on Saturday night in Phoenix went very, very well. I performed to a fantastic audience who filled up the room and made me feel cooler than I actually am. I performed Blue Light Special, from Happiest Days of Our Lives, and I read my review of Justice from TV Squad. I didn't have t...

Accomplishment is the best mixer of all!
a little celebration is in order
I bought myself this bottle of Oban when I started my current writing project. I put it on my desk, and looked at it every day from when I started breaking the story, right up until I finished the last bit of rewriting, just a few minutes ago. I'm having just one finger, neat. I'm sure it's t...

Nice work! Last lines/final words are so important to the audience, be they readers or viewers or listeners...we know that, so I think we often grind unreasonably looking for the perfect combination of words and structure. I'm glad this one snuck from behind when you weren't looking.
almost there . . . stay on target . . .
I'm racing toward the deadline on my script, listening to Radio Free Burrito's Mixtape, Volume One. I forgot how much fun I had putting that together, so I think I'll do another one when I get some free time. I've been looking desperately for the final line of the script for five days now, and I...

Shortly after I made the bowling suggestion I got to thinking about what Wil's day would be like on the 11th...morning trip to the airport, 2-3 hour flight, dinner and auction that evening.....and I realized that finishing that day off with late night bowling would probably not happen. Let's not minimize the great thing Wil is doing already by asking him to invite exhaustion on top of it :)
Come sit with me at the Child's Play charity dinner!
I'm going up to Seattle in a couple weeks for the Child's Play dinner and auction, so I asked my friends at Penny Arcade if I could do something to contribute, other than my ticket and whatever I decide to buy in the auction. "How about two seats at your table?" Normally, this sort of thing neve...

The auction price is already over a thousand dollars... that's fantastic but a bit out of my range, however, I'm always up for some late night bowling and Sunset Bowl is open 24/7/364.75
Wanna bowl?

Wow...Hemingway.
Too cool.
Dr. Pauly reviews The Happiest Days
My friend Dr. Pauly reviewed The Happiest Days of Our Lives! Very few authors are able to connect with their readers, but Wil Wheaton is not like most writers. His words are like a sleeper cell. You have no idea they have penetrated deep inside of you, then they spring to life and attack your se...

Wil,
Just saw Numb3rs. You did a great job...only one problem..
NOT LONG ENOUGH DAMMIT, NOT LONG ENOUGH

186, and some other NUMB3RS
The good news is that I packed and labeled 186 books to be shipped. Of those 186, about 30 are international orders that still need customs forms and postage, but the rest are ready to go. This brings us to the bad news, which is that I just finished now, an hour after the post office closed, t...
