Canada is one of the worst places in the world for media restriction. I believe it's due to the fact that even though it's right next to the US it has wholly different contracts that are owned by individual TeeVee stations. It's rather frustrating even living here with most of my friends (internet and real life) living in the US and discussing all the amazing media services available to them. Not to mention several times a week being linked to something that I cannot see even though I'm less than 35 miles from the US. Anyway, since you're in Vancouver you should check out the CBC Radio3 podcast if you haven't before, I highly recommend it for a good dose of great Canadian music.
