I attended a London-based event last night where McDonalds, O2 and Mastercard discussed the future of money and payments. Everyone agreed that m-commerce (loyalty, offers etc.) was going to be key in creating a value proposition for consumers and critical in driving mass adoption of mobile payments and wallet. However, Colin Swain from Mastercard noted that payments within a mobile wallet, while it is a hygiene factor, is still exceptionally important.
