Based on some comments above I found this.... http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/xzibit-yo-dawg
In which I am easily amused (again)
A few days ago, I saw this awesome thing that happened: Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa flew 220 miles into space to play with toys. His recent stay on the International Space Station included several hours of building a Lego version of his orbiting abode. When it was done, it looked somet...
Hi Jim,
I've been reading your blog since Kean linked over here, and the content has been fantastic. I just want to throw out a couple little pieces of constructive criticism:
1) Watch out for the wall of text. You seem to have a tendency to let your first paragraph go on for quite a bit. Breaking it up (the way the second half of this post is broken up) makes it a lot easier to digest the chunks.
2) Run the text through a spell checker and do a little more proofreading. The previous post had at least one spelling error ("distain", though I just looked it up and was surprised to find it actually is a word...) and this one has "cutting the dance short a wee early" where you seem to be missing a "bit" (har har! programmer humor! ;) )
Can I Bootstrap a New Company or Do I Really Need Investors? Will I Starve?
Because of a great inquiry from a reader, I am going to delay one more post before talking about the academic research around software platforms and dancing with elephants. I received a question from a motivated and excited software developer with doubts about their ability to start their own b...
Kean,
Since this is the most recent post filed under Jigs I'll ask my question here.
What is accepted good practice for setting the UserInputControls flags? I notice that your own usage has evolved over time, from Accept3dCoordinates |

Are there specific behaviors you're trying to get with the different combinations in your posts referenced above?
Jigging an upright, square, AutoCAD raster image using .NET
Following on from these two posts, we’re now going to implement a jig to create our QR Code raster images inside AutoCAD. Today’s approach isn’t radically different from the previous one prompting selection of corners, but we do get to see the actual (square) boundary of the raster object as it ...
Holy crap, that was fast work! ;)

Just in case you haven't had your mind blown by the latest music video from The Guild, yet: <br/><a href="http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/season-4-music-video-game-on/y0da39gh?fg=sharenoembed" target="_new"title="Season 4 - Music Video - "Game On"">Video: Season 4 - Music Video - "...
Next step: Somebody put the Guild crew in touch with the Rock Band Network (http://creators.rockband.com/) people and get Game On and Date My Avatar charted in Rock Band!
Y'know... somebody... who knows the Guild crew... and is a Rock Band fan... somebody...

I was in stitches through pretty much the entire 30+ minute Captain's Wife's Lament.
My poor friend who had to drive us back afterwards, who wasn't up on any of the Wheatonisms I was catching ("Moonpie"), and who I think had mostly come with me to see Adam Savage... less so (especially since Adam's solo bit felt surprisingly short).
"In a lot of ways, for me, W00tstock felt like finally finding a home base."
When Paul and Storm and Adam Savage and I had our first conversations about what would become w00tstock, we knew that we wanted to put on an entertaining show for our fellow nerds that would be successful enough to warrant more than the three shows we originally planned. Sunday and Monday, we're...
Now that I have your attention with my nicely done joke *bows*, will there be any opportunity for Rock Band with Wil at w00tstock Chicago?
Regardless, I'll be the guy who finds you there just to have the opportunity to tell you to your face how bad you creeped him out in the Criminal Minds episode.
The phrase I'm thinking about using is "your face haunted my nightmares for a week", which happens to be the honest truth.
The Wheaton Recurrence
It's Sunday afternoon as I write this. I can't publish this manually, because if I've read my call sheet correctly, I'm currently playing Dr. Isaac Parrish on Eureka. If we're on schedule, I'm working in a scene with Erica, Colin, and Neil. If my experience on the show so far is any indication, ...
Doesn't Sheldon know that his nemesis has an Achilles heel: Give it Away on Expert Drums?
The guy needs to do his homework.

Thanks to the review and this response the wife and I picked up Pandemic a week and a half ago. I think we've played it for at least an hour every day since, usually more. It's a fight to win it at medium level - I can't imagine what it takes to win if you amp it up to legendary.
Only downside - it's seriously eating into my Rock Band time....
A few geeky games that are worth setting aside some Geek Time to play
I've discovered that, unless I specifically set aside Geek Time for me, Wil Wheaton, I end up doing nothing but work. This isn't entirely bad, because most of the work I do is geek-related, but I eventually run out of HP, and I have to recharge. by doing some private geeky thing, like reading co...
