So, I am yearning for Spring. Since the tulips aren't coming up in the garden yet, I had to go buy some at the grocery store this week. Our winters are so long and the gloom drags on for what seems like forever. So it is usually around this time of year when I get restless and need a little pick-me-up. These tulips helped. Even though they only lasted a week... TECHNIQUE It was time for another full page photo in my Traveler's Notebook. So I printed this photo at 4.25x8.25in, the size of my TN page. Then I used... So, here is a layout from February's Traveler's Notebook. A year ago, my youngest girlie moved away from home. It was hard. And she is 8 hrs away up north, so we cannot just drive up for the weekend. But on this particular weekend my sister and her family went up to visit my cousin and see my girlie. I'm glad she got big hugs from her auntie. TECHNIQUE For this layout I knew I wanted to keep everything very light and airy because of the photo being that way as well. So I chose this tiny printed background patterned... Continue reading

So, lettering Bible verses is such great practice for me. It forces me to slow down in my day and focus on what is important. I can already see some areas where I need to improve and adjust my lettering. It is so helpful to see what and how others are doing with their lettering, so joining this little challenge has been wonderful for me. I am inspired by the letterers in the #30DAYSOFBIBLELETTERING community. How about you? From where do you draw inspiration? Continue reading

So, last week we celebrated with my Mama. She is aging so gracefully and only gets sweeter every day. Our family all gathered at my house to celebrate her. We ate good food (Sean cooked jambalaya), we told good stories, we laughed and we hugged each other a lot. Ash came home from up North and was able to be here too. I love the relationship that both my girls have with their grandparents. It is so special and we are blessed. These are the most precious moments for me...being together and loving on one another. TECHNIQUE For this layout... Continue reading

So, I have been participating in the 30 Days of Bible Lettering challenge this month. Not only is it a good way to review these Bible verses that warm my heart, but it is also a great opportunity to make a daily practice of my lettering. I have been slacking in this area lately with other creative endeavours on my plate at the moment. It is so good to find the time in my day to slow down and focus on lettering and God's Word. So, I love reading and that needs to go into my Project Life TN too! I can remember as far back as junior high when I would start reading a novel and couldn't put it down for anything...bedtime, homework, or even mom calling me for supper! Sometimes, I even took my book and flashlight under the covers with me in the night to read (sorry Mom, this may come as a shock to you!) So my love of reading runs deep. I don't have as much time to read now as I'd like, adult responsibility and all, but I do... Continue reading

So, here is a Traveler's Notebook spread about the fact that winter is hanging on way too long this year. I can't take it anymore! Sheesh! Even these lovely digital papers are calling for spring. I cannot get over how much it keeps on snowing. Every time we get a warm day or two I cross my fingers that it is over, but then it snows again. And we have dull great days, which make it tricky to photograph my spreads. Anyone with me...? TECHNIQUE For this layout I started with the subtle (fish scale) patterned paper that ran across... So, to kick off my March traveler's notebook I did a layout for One Little Bird using the digital kit Duly Noted. I love the softness of the colours in this kit and the little hints of spring...even though we are not seeing it in my part of the country just yet. It was the perfect kit for documenting the lovely farm fresh eggs I get from my mom. They are not my mom's eggs but since she lives in a little rural town, she has connections to farm fresh eggs. And being a farm girl myself (where we did... Continue reading

So, I finally got my hands on Flow Magazine. This is a magazine for paper lovers and I love paper. The magazine originates in the Netherlands and so is written in Dutch. There is also a French and German version. I was first made aware of the German version through my IG friend Andrea (her Instagram and blog). I had never seen one in person, but since I was traveling to Europe, I thought that just maybe I would find one in French, because at least I could read that. After buying this German copy, I did some searching online... Continue reading

So, this Project Life spread is documenting my fave drinks right now. I love matcha green tea. When I happen to have a can of coconut milk in the house I sneak it into my tea to create a latte. We don't really drink regular milk in my house anymore and almond milk does not go well with the matcha, so creamy coconut is my new favourite. My go to drink at Starbucks used to always be a chai latte, however, now that I have cut way back on sugar in my life, I am trying to make different choices.... Continue reading

So, after returning from Spain I have two favourite reminders of my trip. The first is a mini nativity from my new friend Amanda. She is the sweetest and picked out the most perfect nativity for me. I absolutely love it. I have a collection of these glass domes in varying sizes and this year at Christmas I filled them all with Nativities. Except that I did not have one the right size to fit under this exact dome. And now I do... And the second is the journal that I kept of my travels. It is packed full of... Continue reading

So, this page in my Project Life album is all about my trip to Spain. Because I already have a mini album on Spain, I just wanted to do a recap here of my trip. While I was traveling I had taken a lot of #iamhere photos of where my feet were standing, sort of to mark the spots I'd visited. So I did one long foldout of all the photos, which I printed as 2x2s on four different grids (in Photoshop), then each became a panel. I used a thin paper (butcher paper) to reduce the bulk of the... So, I have pulled out the flowers for this Project Life spread even though we are having absolutely no signs of spring here yet. Peppermint, the creator behind the digital kits at One Little Bird, added this awesome gold metallic banner in this kit. I decided to cut it right out and use it overlapping my photo here. I really like this effect. I'll have to try it again at some point. And I always love tags, so using this one was a no-brainer... And I am not vain (or so I hope I don't come across as such) but... So, for the month of February I am using the One Little Bird kit called All Things Considered. Here are a couple of pages from our ski weekend at the beginning of the month. This time around I hid the journaling under the photo... I have been so frustrated that my pics do not show up very clearly here in my blog feed. However, I just discovered (perhaps I am the only one) that if you click on them to enlarge them, they look much better. So please try that! Continue reading

So, here is Part 2 of my January TN for Project Life. My daughter had been working several months towards this competition moment... And since I am already doing a mini album of this trip, I just wanted to do an overview in my PL. Trying to find ways to do longer journaling... Here is some journaling done on a tag for a different effect... And a good ole selfie (sort of)... I pulled out my large letter stamps to make this layout... And I'm glad I captured this favourite moment... Finishing off this January PL mini album by documenting... Continue reading

So, this year I have decided to do my Project Life album in the Traveler's Notebooks. I am going to designate one TN per month and I am using the digital kit by One Little Bird for each of the corresponding months. In January, the kit was called This Year and I love those flowers! I am also setting a goal to do at least one quote or Bible verse per month. So here is the first one... I started this album with New Year's Eve, because technically, when these photos were taken, it was already 2017. I used a... Continue reading

So, I love making notebooks from recycled paper bags. Now that I am making friends around the world, I have more reasons to create mini albums! This one was a gift for my Spanish friend. On a previous visit, she had taken me shopping at this great shoe store called Camper. Of course I saved the bag from the pair that I bought and took it home to make a mini for her. To create the inside pages I used the digital kit called Cosy by Amber Labau at The Lily Pad. This little mini made the trip with me... Continue reading

So, I am home again. It has been some time since I contributed to this little blog of mine as the past couple of months have taken me far and wide. I was in Spain in November, Mexico in December, Brazil in January and back to Spain this month. Most has been travel for my full time job. But now I am home and hope to be for a little while. The nice thing about traveling, obviously, is that I have many stories to tell with the photos that I have captured. So I have a lot of stuff to... Continue reading

So here is Day 13 of my December Daily. This spread was all about changing up my art wall for Christmas. I did a new calligraphy script canvas that says "O Come Let Us Adore Him" and a 3D paper wreath that I printed and coloured with watercolours. This week I had also created this on my chalkboard... So those were both stories that I wanted to capture on this page. Christmas is so great, isn't it? Continue reading

So, here is Day 12 of my December Daily. I wanted to get a good shot or two of my tree and both of these photos won out. So I printed a digital star print paper onto a transparency and adhered it between the 2 full page photos with some washi tape. I wrote all of my text on strips of paper and attached them to the transparency. The text continues on the back as well... Now I can see both photos and the floating text kinda adds to the whole effect. Have I mentioned that I love full page... Continue reading

So I have finished the first Traveler's Notebook in my December Daily. Therefore, at the end of this notebook, I had a blank page to decorate. I drew this cute little antler and magnolia combo on my iPad. And then used the digital papers by One Little Bird to fill in the spaces. How fun is that? And then, I had to add a fresh new Traveler's Notebook. So of course I had to embellish that too! Again, I drew this cluster of trees and filled it in with digital papers. I am kinda lovin' this look, how about you? Continue reading

So here is day 11 of my December Daily. I used an Instax photo lined up beside a little tag. The rest of the spread is fairly simple so as not to compete with the small photo. But I couldn't resist using this adorable little tree to embellish the empty space at the bottom of the page. Have I mentioned that I love this project? Continue reading

So here is Day 9 of my December Daily. It was just announced that I make the Creative Team for One Little Bird! I am so pleased. I really love these digital products.
