Denver here, and ABSOLUTELY would be there if the Fins made the big game. Stupid Gross lady!
Dolphins in a home Super Bowl a nightmare?
There is truly a leadership void afoot in this country. I believe that, for whatever reason, many people we have stupidly installed into leadership roles have lost their way. I'm talking about leaders in business, politics (from all the parties), the car industry, Wall Street and the financial i...
ESPN is reporting that ita a 6 yr deal. no money disclosed yet.

The words right from Tony Sparano's mouth
Dolphins coach Tony Sparano spoke to the national and local media on Thursday and it was quite enlightening in a Parcellian-not-going-to-tell-you-much sort of way. As you know Sparano confirmed the Dolphins would not use the franchise tag on any of their free agents. But he wouldn't say why. He ...

Big Brother needs more phone information
I know, I know, I know. I asked a couple of days ago for you to tell me what phone you use and what carrier you enlist. Well, I'm compelled to ask again. So even as I am composing a new blog post that will contain, you know, football information, I ask you to entertain this post for a couple of ...
Mel, like all draft "experts," is all about hindsight. I look back '06, one Jason Allen. I seem to remember Mel praising that pick saying how he would step right into starting 'cause he knew Satan's system so well. That should be enough to realize Mel knows about as much as the average season ticket holder. Ryan over Long, no way! Football is a game that starts in the trenches, you don't pass up on an achor for your line for the next decade plus, especially one that protects your QB's blindside. Even the greatest QB can't throw, or even hand off for that matter with defensive players constantly hanging from his back.
Henne vs Ryan - I still take Henne. I look at it this way. How many better than average QB's can you name that came out of BC? Ryan MAY be one, but I can only think of one more and that's Flutie Flakes, and I have a really hard time even ranking him average, let alone above. Now on the other hand, you can't even count on one hand how many well above average QB's have been a product of the Big Blue. 'Nuff said, and I am not even a fan of Michigan.
Now onto Ginn, seems every blog goes back to him one way or the other. I will be the first to admit he was a reach at 9, yet as all of you have heard from me before, I'd rather have him than Quinn. Many scouts had him pegged in the late teens of the frist round, so at least he was referred to as first round talent. Jalon, I like many others have to disagree that the Texans would have taken the family at #10, Okoye was their pick no matter what. And using phinhaven as your proof is not such a good idea. That is a forum site, which means your sources are nothing more than average joe fan, you should find more credible sources before sounding so confident.
BTW Mando, I use a BlackBerry via TMobile.

Kiper: Ryan better than Henne, Pennington
The NFL draft combine in Indianapolis starts Thursday and to celebrate all the attention and focus we are about to lend to a bunch of dudes running around in shorts and doing everything except, you know, blocking and tackling and making plays from scrimmage, I present to you draft guru Mel Kip...
If those two are the only ones available, the pick is Ginn, no questions asked. I can't believe I am agreeing with a Pats fan, but his rushing numbers alone this year tell you Ginn is a playmaker on the upswing. 5 for 73 w/ 2 td's. Add that to his rec numbers and you have better numbers in the second year than Wayne, Smith, TJ, etc. Look back at this blog (the old version anyway) from March 2007. Everyone (at least 8 out of 10 anyway) was preaching that Quinn was the next Marino and praying he would fall to #9. I said don't drink the kool-aid. Quinn never won the big game at ND, and was too pampered to make it big in the NFL.
Is Ginn over Quinn the pick you make today?
Got on an American Airlines flight out of Miami to Tampa Monday afternoon, as I am spending the next seven days of my life covering my 18th Super Bowl. So who was on the same flight? Brady Quinn ... The Cleveland Browns quarterback ... ... The guy who should have been the Dolphins quarterback af...
Luis, yes top 15! SOB was right, and it not just Keiper he was listening to. Everything I read prior to that draft had Ginn anywhere from 11-16, not just beacause of PR/KR, but because of sheer spped and explosiveness. I sat 9 rows up from the field at Univ of Pho Stadium for the Nat'l champ game that year, and you should have seen Ginn absolutely explode through the hole on the opening kickoff. I still belive UF would have had no answer for him all day and OSU would have destroyed UF had Ginn not gotten stepped on and hurt after that run back.

Dolphins willing and able to stop Wildcat
The Dolphins have used the Wildcat formation/package/gimmick plenty this season with considerable reward for the use. Some of Miami's biggest plays this season have come out of that package. So the Wildcat has been a friend. But can it be an adversary? The Raiders, Miami's opponent this weekend,...
tjh - Yes the moves did reflect special teams. They brought back Courtney Bryan - strictly for special teams.

And yes, Henne was the Mich QB in 05. He was a 4 year starter for them. And the only consistent thing Quinn did at ND was beat Navy. He could not even beat Purdue on a consistent basis, and could never win the big game.

I don't believe cam and muller traded Welker simply because they knew they could get Ginn. Could they see into the future and know 100% that Ginn would be on the board? Hindsight, yes he was there but actuallity is completely different. And the Welker trade happened in early March, thats a month and a half (at least) before the draft, way too much time for things (injuries, etc) to happen. The ONLY reason Welker was traded was because the Rats offered a 2nd and 7th for him, which (at that time, not now) was WAAAAYYY over value for him. A single 3rd to 5th would have been comsisdered right on at that time.

As far as the Wildcat is concerned, we should be fine. Russel is playing but is very inexperienced, which sould mean a big day for Joey and the D. Fins 31 Riaders 6.

Dante O... That has to be one of the dumbest posts I have ever read. The only reason Daniels was here in the first plce is because we was a Sab(t)an guy who knew the defense because he went to LSU under Satan. Let me tell you, he was OVER RATED, just like his coach Satan. Good riddance to one of the last Satan carryovers!

Titans showing most interest in Joe Horn
There are rumors the Dolphins are making a play for receiver Joe Horn because, well, he's available. Agent Ralph Vitolo tells me that he has indeed called the Dolphins to see if they're interested. But he also says as of 6:30 this evening, the Dolphins had not returned his phone call. Vitolo tel...
