Thank you, Wil, for a much needed, honest-to-goodness laugh out loud! I've seen a million faces...

As soon as you finished describing - in detail - the manner in which you had been violated by your audio equiment, I said - quite loudly, might I add - "OW!" RFB is a great way for me to while away my lunch hours at the office, Wil, and I thank you for it!

The tidbits that you've, oh, so carefully, been releasing have me solidly in pre-squee mode about this book, Wil. I'm one of the (hopefully not many) readers of your blog that just hasn't managed to keep enough room on the plastic for copies of your books, so far (They will be mine. Oh, yes, they *will* be mine...!), but I'm going to MAKE room, dammit, for this!

people who want to show off their book in its natural habitat I'll make you a deal, Wil: you meet me at the US/Canada border with copies of your books, I will trade shiny gold rocks with you for those books, then I will bring them home and photograph them in their place of honour - the ... uh ... "reading room"!

So, that was "Surf", was it? Now, I've certainly heard the style of music before - and enjoyed it - but I never knew what the genre was called. Now, in addition to thoroughly enjoying each song you selected, Wil, I have learned was "Surf" music is and, also, that some of it comes from Canada, where surfing would be, in my non-expert opion, terminated by rocks very much larger than grains of sand. I'm going to have to go through your previous podcasts, 'cause this one was just so darned entertaining and you *totally* remind me of the taped radio broadcasts I made when I was a kid. Finally, hearing your non-stuidio-recorded voice makes me think that you've stolen my voice, or, at least, borrow it a lot without my permission. Stop it.

OK, Wil, this is just too damned cool! Good on ya, mate! One thing that I've always wondered - hooray for the Internet granting me the opportunity to "converse" with a person I admire (who just happens to be an actor/writer/comedian/poker player/you get my meaning) who I will likely never encounter in a "real world" social situation - about guest appearances/voice work/et al: Do you recieve a copy of the completed episode from the production company after it airs or do you "just" get your cheque in the mail? My wife was a primary subject in a documentary series (filming while we met and fell in love, so I'm kind of in a few episodes, too) and we received a set of DVDs after the series aired and I was just wondering if that was standard or just something that this particular company did in this particular case.

Great article, Wil; many excellent points and keen observations. I'm sorry, though, that I must disagree with you on one point, knowing that I am in the minority: Ghost Rider ROCKED!!! Flame away! ;}

My best friend, Jackie, made my wife a T-shirt that says: Stupid Girls Are Ugly I agree wholeheartedly. Tangentially, I'm right to be afraid that my friend of 30 years gets along so well with my wife of 3 years (depending on whom you ask), aren't I? I mean, my 40th birthday is less than two years away...

As always, Will, it's a pleasure to read about your positive fan experiences. Like you, I felt that Trekkies (the 1st left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I haven't bothered with the 2nd) shone a not-at-all-flattering light on the more hardcore, shall we say, fans of Star Trek and I appreciate your consistent support of their ( ;} ) fandom. As for comments re: the editing of the mocumentaries - having been a far from principal subject in a documentary - I admit that editing can make all the difference in the world, but you'd have to work pretty hard to ignore the positive intent of the film-maker to edit the project into what I feel was a very one-sided presentation. Regardless, I'm sorry, Wil, but I had to vote for DS9. Let's just say, "Terry Farrell and Nana Visitor" and leave it at that, OK? Finally, one of my favourite jokes (one that the Kids These Days™ just don't get), which, I believe, proves my healthy separation from hardcore fandom: The Amok Time Gunfight T'Pau! T'Pau-T'Pau! T'Pau! T'Pring! T'Pring-T'Pring! SPOCK!

I suppose it all works out in the end, eh, Wil? I mean, we get bombarded w/ American "culture" and aren't able to partake in it's occasional benefits, so we sent you Celine Dion. Turnaround is fair play, my friend!
