Hi! I sent you some pictures of the instructions, so check your junk mail just in case! Please let me know if anything isn't clear and I will try to help you out. Also, you may want to re-read the posts about the straps...they are kinda frustrating! Have fun sewing your bag!

I don't know if this will count or not...but mixed media art. There are basically no rules when it comes to mixed media...really, its kind of a cheating answer, because doing mixed media, you can incorporate any other craft that you do and its all good...and I think you can make super personal intraspective things if you want, or make beautiful and appropriate gifts for someone else. And I could use up all my craft supplies (yarn, paper, polymer clay, paint, the list goes on) so that my husband didn't have a heart attack!
Stencil Hop: Lotus Blossom
Today I've invited three awesome paper artistes to play with the beautiful Lotus Blossom Stencil (available in 12x12 and 6x6): Those super cool paper artistes are: Nathalie Kalbach: Nat is a messy, creative, paint and mist happy gal from Germany. As you know, she and I dreamed up the Secon...
I just wanted to say that I love your final page. I don't know if it is because I am ditzy or just woke up, but it took me a minute to realize there were words on the page...possibly I was ogling the awesome stamps too...and when I finally saw the words, I fell in love...so genious! You always have amazing ideas! Thank you for sharing them with sleepy lil me...you just gave me a great start to the day!
Second Floor Challenge #2: Use Something New
Today is the second Second Floor challenge! Are you ready to take it to the second floor? The challenge this time around is to use something from your art stash that you've never used before. Whatever that means to you or however it inspires you. The prompt is simply meant to get you starte...

Yay! You are just a little over a week more preggo than my sister. (Who is a skinny minny and already showing too...as the chunky sister, I enjoy that so much!) I am so happy to know of two awesome people that are closely preggers!
Wardrobe | Maternity Style - 11 Weeks
You guys! I woke up a couple of days ago to find that baby-growing bloat hadn't gone away overnight, like it usually does. Is eleven weeks to early to be showing? It seems like it to me. But whatever. I'm rolling with it. Today I headed to the thrift store to buy some stretchy skirts, since mo...

Great post as always! I am the same with you on song lyrics that get brain bound. My husband (who is a drummer) and I clash a lot on music, because he hears the music and I hear the words. The quoteskine is very neat! I go journaling nutzo personally. The best thing for me...maybe a little gross...is to keep a journal in the bathroom. (I blame my mother, who potty trained all of her children by giving them a book and sitting them on the toilet...) It is a challenge for me to find time to write and sketch, but what else are you going to do in there while you're taking care of business, notice how you need to shine the faucet for the 800th time that day? (I hate you stupid shiny faucet!) I have one single journal at a time and everything goes in there: drawings, craft ideas, quotes, diary-type stuff...just whatever I happen to be thinking about. Then if something sticks in my brain after I write it down in that journal, I know it must really interest me, and I will figure out how I can use it in the NP (non-potty) rooms. It really works pretty well. But be aware, depending on who you let use your bathroom, you may get some odd looks...
Journaling Back to Myself
Sunday night I was dog tired. A wonderfully busy weekend filled with all good things, but as usual - little in the way of art or writing. Too tired to do any serious work on a Sunday night. Besides, I am trying to turn off the compunction to be "doing" all weekend long. I decided I dese...

I really enjoyed reading this, because I know exactly what you mean. Its like you reached it my brain and turned what you found into these eloquent words. I often wish that finding a balance weren't so difficult. Between working and sleeping, there are just never enough hours in the day to create anyway, then you add the shiny internet to distract from the remaining time you have...it's a struggle! I hope that you can find something that helps you keep focused (and tell me what it is), because you make such beautiful things. And while it kind of goes against the idea of this post, I am happy you do take time to share with me (the collective internet too...but me specifically...), because it makes my day to check in on your world!
The Hunger Moon
The full moon at this time of year is referred to as the Hunger Moon. The Native Americans also referred to it as "Little Famine Moon" and "Storm Moon". Our ability to feed ourselves in the United States at least no longer waxes and wanes according to the seasons. Would that it did; we...

snail in a real shell
I made this guy today. He says, "Happy weekend to you!".
I know, isn't it the worst!?! I spent forever with a seam ripper in hand because I got it wrong the first time! I hope this makes it understandable:
When you cut the main body out, you have two square shape cut-outs at the bottom of the bag. Do not sew them shut in that flat square shape! Instead, take inside corner (if you invision the square shape, you are taking the top right corner of the square on the left side, and the top right corner of the square on the left side) on either side of the bag and pull them in opposite directions. This will make the seam from the side and the seam from the bottom meet in the middle, and what were the two inside corners will be at the edges. (If you do it like this, you will have a three dimensional bag, like a box bottom.)Pin it and sew straight accross that. So instead of sewing in an upside down "L" shape, you will actually sew a straight line. I hope this makes sense...if not, let me know, and I will do a post with pictures to explain it better. (And thanks for reading my blog!)
Puppy Love
I read a really nice post from Leigh-Ann at Freckled Nest about her very pretty doggy, Nousha, a rescue dog. I love her take on the rescue dog verses pure bred dog situation. I am rescue dog 98% of the way. The other 2% is reserved for responsible breeders...which are so very rare. I worked ...
Hello again,
I just wrote a little post on my blog with some pics of Dingo. Sorry they are not very great quality...me and my scanner are not friends just yet...
I hope you will check it out! Thanks for your awesome blog!

Yay! What a great post. All my dogs are rescues, and they really are the best! I was a total cat kid, despite having dogs growing up...until I was 10 and went to the local shelter to get a cat. My mom suggested we go look at the puppies, since the cat section consisted of one very old, very grumpy cat and empty cages. (Mom is not a cat person so much...) We were looking at a bunch of typical barking, bouncy puppies, when we heard a loud bo-oo-oo-ow. We looked up and there, all by herself in the cage, was one black puppy with white paws and a white chest...the initial howl was so loud that we didn't think she was the one who did it, but when we went over to her, she did it again! I, confirmed cat person, said "Mom, I want to hold that puppy" Mom: "but you don't like dogs" Me: "I just want to hold it." When we got her out, she put one paw on one of my shoulders, one paw on the other, and licked my chin one time..."Mom, I want this puppy, please." After much pleading on my part, I got her She never howled like that again! That was eighteen years ago, and Dingo (I was ten...I thought it was a cool name...) is still here with me. She has been my best friend for a long time, and I am tearing up thinking about it!

What great costumes! I wish I had seen these pics Saturday...I would have been running around like a crazy person trying to get my own Amelia Erhart costume ready...oh well, now I have a year to get one together! ...would it be too weird if I just wore it in daily life? *insert image of weirdo making soft toys/crocheting in Amelia costume here*
Happy Halloween!
