Your words are most gracious and your contribution was fabulous. Thanks again.

thanks. I look forward to checking out some of those. I had forgotten about Gurrumul and the Alabama Shakes. And the Ryan Adams album. i was underwhelmed somewhat by Sufjan. I liked Wilco...

Thanks Nicole. I know Godly Play. That's a helpful idea. We would need to change the setting, for a few reasons. Let me think about it.

that's a fair comment Ann. As you can guess, the Great Prayer of Thanksgiving was meant to be said by the people. It would have been possible to give them some cues in that time. eg. let us give thanks for God's work in Creation.... let us give thanks for the gift of Jesus Christ, God-with-us, etc.

Thanks Stephen. I'll try that.

thanks steve. yes you're aprtly right about the title, although the authors (and I) proceed to say that there are problems with CE. maybe I should call it Part 1...
Final verse became... Be the sacrifice that breaks us Be the shelter in the flood Be the promise that remakes us Be the parent who is good now to write a tune!

thanks, really helpful comments. Paul, surely you're not tied into such a tight kind of rhyming? I gave that up years ago. too few things rhyme with "ood"...

excellent! how can I get an English set Steve?
David, thanks for asking! I dont know where the pianist got the song from, but the 'permission' always says that people are free to use it for worship. The song has three authors and no publisher and you are more than welcome to us it for non-commercial purposes. The NCYC songbook explains that. At least I thought it did. Please sing it, enjoy it, share it. And by the way, yes, I'm the contact person.

Well that's great. I wish we had seen, heard about or stumbled across it all! I hope you heard my apology. I was reflecting on my actual experience. Interesting to experience the campus/event from a parent/visitor perspective.

steve, did the room have staff as well? my comment was actually about staffing and profile.

I will amend my post accordingly. Apologies.

Well that's wonderful to hear! Clearly I jumped to a conclusion based on the lack of a person at the Humanities table. How did people find it? Were there many visitors?

the big issue is whether or not its on the bone, of course. if it is, then 4 hours on low heat would be fine. i'm going to have to to do goat next weekend. it's been too long....

well said steve. the appeal of "messy church" shouldn't be that you have to go outside 'regular church' stuff to be messy. it would seem though that for various reasons people find it easier to leave the 'centre' alone and play around the edges. i atill wonder why many churches abandoned the creativity of the 70's and early 80's in worship.

yes I agree. my questions are more about ways Scripture and theme are used in the activities in terms of faith exploration / development. foy myself I find that one of the hardest things to get right, and a number of the examples i think miss the mark.

well let me know how that goes. my group are largely (not totally) a literate, private school bunch... my question is partly about how much they like the clip, but also about how well they understand the issues that it raised. so I'm keen to hear for whom both aspects work. it will be good info to help work out what we do here, won't it?

no point in putting a tagine in a Weber. the tagine is sealed so you wont get any BBQ flavour getting in there. pistachios would work. i think dates would be too mushy. but give it a try...
