We cued soft piano music years ago with this one about Obama http://youtu.be/AFffASBnBnI
Cue the soft piano music; Obama's got a kinder-gentler battleground contrast ad
After trying to eviscerate Republican Mitt Romney and his business record, President Obama's campaign is going kinder and gentler with its lates ad that's supposed to run in Florida, Colorado, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. ** Note: Mitt Romney's c...
Nuke Allen, good question, but my post is not ridiculous. To answer your question, I got in on an early beta of this service, and one of the first royalty amounts already paid to me was for Rhapsody plays, separate and additional to what I get for 'distribution' payments.
It's not 'instead' of being paid through BMI/ASCAP or SoundExchange, etc.. - it's a more efficient and powerful mechanism to monitor and actually get the payments that are owed to me. I'd much rather get a lot more of my earnings and pay ten percent to have this done, than pay no percent and hardly get anything.
If you are already thriving as is, by all means, stay where you are!

Facebook seems more natural to me for talking, connecting with friends and family about any topic. The myspace culture is more like an over all acceptance and understanding that people are there to promote their (music, comedy, films, etc..) and connect at the same time. When friends at myspace comment with a band promotion onto my myspace page see www.twittermyspacebook.com , I approve those comments (as well as more personal ones) because I want to cross promote other artists and find, for the most part, that my occasional comment/promotion on other pages will be accepted too. The music player on myspace is MUCH more convenient for artists than the odd work-arounds which I'm still trying to figure out for facebook.
I'm surprised that facebook doesn't add at least the ability to customize background and text colors.
MySpace vs. Facebook Face-off by Jake Hartsfield
Jake Hartsfield is a songwriter, producer, touring sound engineer and a member of the TuneCore Marketing Team. MySpace and Facebook feel like they've always been around, even though both were founded in 2003 – only six years ago. The growth of both entities was incredibly fast and speaks f...
Jake, thanks for this amazing article, and thanks to the many other experts who have commented here. I'm not a recording engineer,I'm more of a keyboardist, but trying to find my way with the many tools available through Logic Studio.
Do you know if Universal Audio 1176 or Bomb Factory are available for Logic?
Also, is there a best order that reverb and delay be added on to a track, one before the other, or is this not an issue?
Also, does anyone recommend any other software similar to Waves plug L-3 for easy ultramaximizing, for the purpose of getting a good gain in the final mix, yet retaining a good amount of depth and dynamics (sort of a compromise to address the issue that Bimbo Patrol was mentioning)?
The Keys to a Great Mix, Part II: Dynamic Processing by Jake Hartsfield
In Part 1 of “Keys To A Great Mix” I talked about various EQ techniques to use when mixing. Now I’m going to follow up with tips on dynamic processing (compression and expansion) and time-based effects (delay, reverb, etc.). I’m going to give very specific settings & examples, but just remember...
