I moved exactly one month ago. Nothing is where it should be, really. There are stacks of artwork waiting to be hung, the bathroom drawers are totally unorganized, and I have my old couch sitting in a storage unit downstairs-... Continue reading

A while ago I realized I was in the bad habit of not bringing my DSLR with me and not handing it over to others so that I can get in a shot or two. When I'm talking to potential... Continue reading

Isn't it interesting how we can think we are ahead or on top of a certain area of our life then we realize we aren't? That's how I was (until recently) with my photo books from my 365 projects. Ouf.... Continue reading

Your sparkler pics are awesome. I need to remember that for next year. I always mean to look up tips and forever... every year! Melted junior mints + popcorn actually sounds kind of yummy. I'm so glad you had a wonderful 4th!

Love it. What great values you are teaching your kids. Kindness is SO important. And... was the movie any good? I've been thinking of seeing it!

Family time with extended relatives is always such a treat. I love that you guys were able to spend so much time together... and a talent show!? That's fantastic. Also love the look on Anna's face, what a great dad she has!

Love seeing quick glimpses into your everyday life. :) I want to know what desert humidity feels like, oh, I love how dry it is in NV and AZ. Your Pioneer Day celebration sounds like it's going to be great- pickup truck and all! Be sure to post/instagram those bonnets, sounds like a fun sewing project :)

Thank you so much, Elizabeth! I try to be as authentic as I can, even though I totally blow it sometimes. I figure honesty is important and that's what blogs were originally supposed to be, right? Have fun taking photos, the light is gorgeous today :)

It totally is! After three years of carting my laundry home it's so liberating to know I can just throw in a load whenever I want. Talk about freedom!

I agree! This trip was too short. I'm sad I didn't get to spend more time with you or Seth. Love you and miss you!

I can't believe I've been going up to McGregor, MN for the 4th of July five years now: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014! I am always so grateful that Karen's parents host us year after year after year. You'll... Continue reading

2,000 years!?! Sounds like Valerie is quite the family historian. I was feeling pretty excited about being able to trace one of my lines back to the 1600s ;) I can't think of a better person to be creating a family history scrapbook. You are right, it will take time, and you can enjoy the process from time to time. The photos of your dad are precious. I'm guessing your parents around my parents' ages. I have quite a few black & white, square format images. Isn't it sweet to see childhood photos of the people who would grow up and parent you? I always get a kick out of looking through them. Excited to see what you come up with! I'm sure it will be lovely.
