I like that episode for the reasons stated, but I've always wondered what kind of direction you actors were given for it. "Pretend like you're about to have an orgasm" is what it seems to have been -- but it's interesting/amusing that you two younger actors didn't end up being filmed doing that kind of emoting.
Incidentally, now that TNG is on Netflix, I've been getting my 9-year-olds hooked on it, and your character is one they really like. And they were thrilled when I pulled out my Technical Manuals for this and TOS. It's fun raising geeklings.
I am easily amused
So io9 did this thing called the 10 Suckiest Fake Video Games That People Play In Science Fiction. Spoiler Alert: The Game from, uh, The Game is number one. 1) Suckdisk from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Actually, we don’t remember this game having an actual name on the show, but “suckdisk” f...

This is crying out for a caption. I'll choose my favorite, and send something neat* to whoever writes it. Submissions open throughout the weekend, one per person, and can only be left as comments here (it's too difficult to track on Twitter or via e-mail). *definition of 'neat' will be at my s...

Wil, thanks to your entries about the cast & outlook, I am now a BBT fan.
My mother and my sister got me to watch one episode about two years ago, and I thought "this show is making fun of me and my friends, and not in a nice way." But over the past year (?) as you've blogged about your experiences with them, I decided to give it another chance, and I've been enjoying the shows a lot, working through them from the beginning. I do still have moments where I talk to the TV: "Why are you laughing at that? It's a completely reasonable thing to do!"
The disk from Netflix with at least one of your episodes on it will be here this week, and I'm looking forward to it.
Thank you.

We filmed until 330 this morning, and when I finally got home a little after 4am, it was all I could do to convince myself to wash off my makeup and go to sleep. I woke up at 1230 this afternoon in the same position I fell asleep, and I probably could have easily slept another 3 hours or more. W...
You're right -- I enjoyed it without context first, then followed your link, watched that, and then enjoyed it again with context. Twice the fun (although I hear a little Scarecrow voice in my head piping "some people go both ways!")
"as his kilt rises..."
I think this is one of those rare things that can be equally enjoyed* by those who have context, and those who don't. *for very disturbing values of 'enjoyed'
Wil, I received my copy of Memories of the Future yesterday from Lulu, and I finished it this morning. It has only one flaw: there's not enough of it. I'm looking forward to your continuation of this delightful beginning.

Imagine if Television Without Pity recappers had been writing about TNG back in 1987, only with more swearing, more digressions and more geeky in-jokes, plus behind-the-scenes memories for every episode. That’s what Vol. 1 does for the first half of the first season of TNG, from “Encounter at Fa...
