Six minutes is just enough to get a very brief overview of the winery and wine. Being in a room with 23 other tables has to be difficult to speak loud enough for everyone to hear. It was an experience again this year, I know of no other place where something like this happens.
WBC09 - Live Wine Tasting
While Michelle is in Chicago at BlogHer, I'm (Kevin) representing our blog at the Wine Bloggers Conference in Sonoma. We're about to do a live "speed tasting." 6 Minutes per wine maker to explain a bottle of their wine. Then switch to the next group of 10 attentive tasters. Post will be updated...
I'll have to check at Party Town this weekend to see if they have any left.
Holiday Beers: Solstice and Shiner
I guess there's nothing more American than sitting back watching Monday Night Football and cracking open a couple of beers. Once again, these are two different craft holiday entries that are quite different from yesterday's mellow Belgians. Up first is the Winter Solstice Ale from Anderson V...
I've always been a darker beer guy, but the peach didn't seem out of place in the wheat beer. It was a very different approach to the holiday season.

Belgian beers are a little tricky to find, but thanks for tip. I'll keep an eye out for it at the local parties (town and source) which have the better beer selections in the NKY area.
Holiday Beers: Belgian Ales
Hello and Happy Holidays! We start of the week with a pair of very different Christmas beers from the great beer producing country of Belgium: Delirium Noël and Anker's Gouden Carolus Noël. Both of these are re-fermented in the bottle, which is typical of these two styles of Belgian beer. The re...

Straight from the Barrel
What are you doing Thanksgiving weekend? Do you want to escape your relatives? I have the perfect solution. Five of our local wineries (and vineyards) are offering a barrel tasting on Saturday, Nov 29. You can visit Harmony Hill, Kinkead Ridge, Henke, Burnet Ridge, and Woodstone Creek. Taste th...
Interesting comment on the food. Since we attended the early tasting, most of the food areas were not staffed. I do remember large food tables a few years ago, but that the lines and congestion around that area made it difficult to get to the wineries.
I'm not sure how to fix the problem. Bringing your own crackers and cheese would make sure you have food, but then carrying the food and finding a place to eat could be tricky.
Cincinnati Wine Festival 2008
Kevin bringing you a round up of this part years Cincinnati International Wine Festival. Once again, it was a good time to get a chance to meet a large number of interesting people from around the world and talk about something that we all love: wine. The quick summary follows, then the full rev...
I listed the three vermouths we tried, maybe it was the shift from bourbon over to vermouth, but the difference was amazing. Other than Vya, any other recommendations I should try? The condition is they have to be available in the Cincy area.
Manhattan Tasting and Building
On Friday night, Michelle and I were lucky enough to get seats at the Manhattan class hosted at the Party Source. The class was this month's spirit entry and sought to help distill the Manhattan to it's base components. It was taught by Jay Erisman, a sometimes guest blogger here at My Wine Ed...
