Guilty as charged, although my goal this year is LOTS of me (needless to say our 17 yr old, usually the center of attention IS adjusting - he does actually love it, it does however mean there is less of him at times lol). Love the pages and your hybrid one - guess I am heading over to designer digitals!
Quirks and quotes: an authentic way to tell a story
Some of my favorite scrapbook pages or projects are those documenting both the things that my subjects say, verbatim, or the quirky things they do that make them unique. I featured one of my favorite albums in my 2nd book, called "Things You Say," a collection of random quotes from my then 6-y...
I think WW changed all their point values (I know this in talking to a friend who said that some of the carbs she had eaten before at 1 point were now actually 3 points) with the new program, so you were not necessarily wrong. The WW of old is not the WW of today.
And hey I figure unless you eating like 10 of those things per day no harm, no foul. As long as you are eating healthy and in decent moderation roughly 90% of the time, isn't that a good thing?
Whoopsie daisy
So a few days ago, I was dispensing food tips to a friend who asked me, "So which one of those Flatout breads is the one with zero points again?" To which I confidently replied, "Oh, it's THIS one." And then for fun, I decided to re-calculate it over at Weight Watchers online. Imagine my surpr...
The drink looks yummy! Must be the 'greenyness' of it. I don't know if you like Indian food but Madhur Jaffrey has a couple of wonderful vegetarian cookbooks with LOTS of flavour. Have fun with the veggie wonderfulness!
Tweaking it.
After posting last week's weight-related whine fest (which generated a great commiseration of misery and support in the comments, in addition to making me me feel so much better in my quest for better health and lesser girth) I set out last week to make some tweaks. Many of you suggested shaki...
Shouldn't read through the comments first - god I do LOVE the leftover turkey sandwiches!! with red pepper jelly...yummmmy. Being Canadian we celebrate in October and I love...being with family, looking at the table decorated with all shades of orange and red maple leaves (and other stuff of course), feeling so emotionally thankful inside and then the food....oyster mushroom stuffing (bigger OMG Cathy!), brussel sprouts, moist and warm turkey (cause whoever has 'hot' turkey), this kickin' cauliflower dish from Fine Cooking and potatoes. Oh and pie watching the CFL (Canadian Football League) Thanksgiving Day.

Day 2/365
A very quick post. Great day food wise; horrible day health wise - lots of pain, spasms in my ribcage and diaphragm (sort of messed up by going for such a long walk, to me, yesterday) and in seeing my Doctor, am now on antibiotics for a bacterial infection. Feeling like crap. Continue reading

Day 1/365
My intention was to start this new lifestyle/experiment on January 1, 2010 however I was in the midst of a wicked cold/virus and I knew I didn't have the physical and mental fortitude to get myself started. So, today is Day #1. Food My current goal is to implement the principles of Eating Clean in order to get used to the 6 meals a day and the change in food. The most lenient version of Eating Clean is what Reno characterizes as Cooler 3. As I progress I will move to Cooler 2 and then Cooler 1. My food plan... Continue reading

Way behind in my blogs as usual and I saw your post. I am thinking of you and your sister Vicki (I understand only too well how surreal and scary this shit is). Your passion for life is what helps you to live well and live with courage.
A hard mix
I had the camera outside this morning to shoot some of DH's paintings before he frames them up and takes them on the road to a few upcoming art fairs -- actually, he de-framed a couple so there's some re-framing going on. Anyway, the hydrangeas and balloon flower were blooming up a storm rig...

I am sorry to hear about your sister; my thoughts and prayers are definitely with you and her. Your thoughts aren't stupid - coping mechanisms are powerful things and they don't always make sense - and they serve a certain purpose, regardless of how crazy it may seem. Cashmere is a good substitute.
As for the rest, I say vent away! Take care Vicki and enjoy that photo shoot.
The ridiculous absurdities of life
I'm looking rather grim and it's an accurate reflection. I sat at my desk this morning trying not to lose it, trying not to go mad with worry and uncertainty -- happy to be there for the distraction it affords, but also wishing I could get away (Hello, Southwest Airlines, someplace warm?) and...
Love the colour. Reading ahead on a pattern..oh yeah; I think I have when all I really did was SKIM (not quite the same). I like the provisional cast on and I occasionally luck out that it goes in the right direction. They will be lovely though. The strawberries and salad greens look yummy!
Don't look at me that way
Yes. I did wind up yarn for socks before going up north -- in fact, just to be safe, secure and prepared, I wound up some Artyarns Merino 4 in addition to the Koigu. The Koigu is from my visit to Yellow Dog Knitting in Eau Claire one Sunday last September, and the Artyarns is from a wonderful...
