"Scant opportunities for young people". I'm not sure I agree with this statement. Yes it is hard for my age group (mid20s) to find a career level job right now but I've noticed that many people my age are more entrepreneurial as well. The rise of the internet has given more advantages to the self-employed and small firms (websites, etsy, amazon sellers etc.) of which I think young entrepreneurs are a significant portion. I feel the growth of the internet has supported new growth and dynamism contrary to what is argued here.
