The intent of AB 1678 is to regulate mobile food vending that specifically and intentionally targets students in close proximity to school campuses. Our goal is to help create school environments that promote and protect student health. The bill is not intended to ban or impede mobile food vending to the general public. We welcome input from the mobile vending community about how AB 1678 can best address growing concerns about mobile vending near schools. We acknowledge that mobile vending can be a source of nutritious food for individuals and families.
