Christian churches do not use the Jehovah's Witnesses New World translation or the Joseph Smith translation. Why? Because they were written by people who reject the inerrancy of Scripture and have a specific theological agenda that guides them in intentionally changing the words that had been written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Yet, Eugene Peterson's The Message seems to get a free pass despite clear evidence that he too rejects inerrancy and has very specific theological agendas in his corruption of the Bible. When these churches demonstrate zero discernment in choosing their Bibles, how can they be expected to discern other false doctrines. It's only a matter of time before the pro-environmental and pro-homosexual groups begin using The Message to support their agendas. Then what? They will have "the Bible" on their side.
