Carl is 1000% right on. Our evaluation/selections of QB's has been ridiculously stupid. Pass on Brees was a monumental mistake, then selecting Long over Flacco or Ryan. HUH?? The 2 most talked about QB's in many a year, and you take an O-line bust?? Oh that's right we had the guy who lost to Appalachian State. I forget. Moore falls into our lap and doesn't practice well, but sure plays well, so you go with a guy who wasn't good enough to start at QB in college until he was a senior. Who all the draft experts said might be a 3rd rounder. And now he's the franchise, and he can't throw the LONG BALL. HUH?? Reminds me of when we had Craig Morton and he got hurt and Doug Peterson came in and had the game won, but no Shula had to put Morton back in so he could lose the game. Must be something in the Miami water, or maybe it's the humidity.

Wallace makes the offense better because the safeties must account for him. They can't leave him one on one with a cornerback. In Lazors offense, with Wallace moving all over the formation, it forces the linebackers and safeties to be accountable for him. I get that his hands aren't great and he doesn't fight for the ball, but he demands extra attention. If the O-line starts creating some holes, and the running backs look like they did against Dallas, Wallace's contribution to the Offense will increase significantly. Now, if they can just score some points. Fumbles and interceptions in the Red Zone are strictly Verbotten.

The problem wasn't Coyle's defense but that horrible offense. It couldn't keep the ball, score many points,or take the pressure off the defense to be perfect every set of downs. Maybe Lazor can get some production out of the offense and the defense can return to the dominance of before. Maybe. 7 points in 2 games, when 1 win would have put them in the playoffs. HMMM!! Not the defense.

Thill was horrible in the last 2 games. I love that the excuse was the O-line, but IT wasn't. Miami needed a QB, and it should have been in the 3rd round. Oh well, another year of mediocrity, and Thill will stink up every stadium he's in. 5-11.

What's this business with the Dolphins and duel role players. Draft a TACKLE or a GUARD, or a really good MIDDLE LINEBACKER. C.J. Mosely anyone? Not some tweener. Maybe he can play OLB or Maybe ILB. B.S. Draft the position. And draft another QB. I'm still not convinced half those sacks weren't on Tannehill.

Excellent article. I disagree with the comment about it being the coaching. I think Kevin Coyle is an excellent coordinator. I'm not sure why the run defense has been getting worse, and why players like Dansby and Burnett improved after leaving, but this defense has not given up many points. And they always keep the team in the game. Only one really bad outing, against New Orleans, who got their butts handed to them in Seattle on a Monday night as well. I really wanted to rub that in their faces. "They just weren't as good as advertised", is what that D-lineman said after the Phins game. LOL. Neither were the Aints against the Seahawks. Losing Martin and Incog was really a blessing. NOW BEAT THE JETS, and get into the playoffs.

The only things I've taken from this. Incognito wasn't very good and a loose cannon. Martin might be a good Tackle one day, and there is a team out there that will give him a shot. He's going to have to convince his team mates he can be trusted. But he won't be playing next to Incognito either. Jeff Ireland is a real question mark. Are any of his draft picks making an impact this year? Jordan, kind of. But then some of his former draft picks and free agent pickups are making an impact. But the o-line is much better. Even Clabo has improved. Glad this thing wasn't systemic, and that it seems to be fading away. GO PHINS!!! Beat the Pats.

Solia was giving all the defensive line rookies terrible haircuts, that they had to wear for 2 weeks. They sucked it up, and played the game. Martin is a wuss. This blog and everyone who responds to it were SCREAMING about Ireland not addressing the LEFT Tackle Position via trade or draft. He finally traded for McKinnie. Because NO ONE had faith in Martin. I hope Incog is cleared, Martin goes back to Cali, and is happy, and JEFF IRELAND IS FIRED. I totally disagree with the way Martin handled this. Totally a WUSS!!!

This whole thing is ridiculous. Blacks use the N word all the time. It's an integral part of THEIR culture. Incog went overboard, but everyone knows that's his personality. Martin has been taking abuse from everyone, especially the Miami PRESS Corps. Even the National Sports Press and the people who rate linemen have him as one of the worst in the league. 35 sacks aren't all on Tannehill, even though he does hold on to the ball too much. I say good riddance to both Martin and Incog. The team played better without both of them against Cinci. Garner is a really good player and should have been starting at right guard. McKinnie is an experienced vet. The O-line needs to focus on their job, and forget all this b.s....

recidivist..Are you really saying that Willie McGinest doesn't know about Football locker rooms? What have you been sniffing? Whatever it is, I don't want any and you shouldn't either. On a lighter note. Hopefully, this will finally get Ireland fired. I'm so sick of his lack of personnel and lack of leadership decisions, I could scream. I think the leadership in the locker room story is a bit overblown by Mando. Each group has it's own leaders. You can't say there are only 1 or 2 leaders in a Football locker room.

You can blame the Tackles all you want for the O-line problems. But I think and have thought all along it's the interior that has sucked it. Especially Incognito. He doesn't play in tandem with either the Tackle or the Center, and he get's run over repeatedly by D-linemen. Everyone has noticed "he can't pull on a running play". That didn't suddenly change. I say GOOD RIDDANCE. He's been a bully in the league, and caused problems wherever he's gone. The O-line can't get much worse, maybe this makes it better. I sure hope so.

It's really tiring being a Dolphins fan. I think I'll start watching Aussie rules football.

The 3rd and inches call just sucked. Anything but Thomas around the end. Tannehill up the middle, play action to the big tight end, maybe. Tannehill had plenty of time when he threw the interception at the end of the half. He just rushed the throw and the CB jumped the route. Drew Brees on Monday night in the Dome is almost unbeatable. A few bad plays and you're down 21-10. A recipe for a really bad 2nd half, with a young QB, and a Defense on it's heels. Ravens are not the same team that went to the Super Bowl. It's doable. 4-1 start. Go Phins!!!

Sherman sucks at calling plays and line assignments. He needs to let the Smart ONE, Tannehill do more of that. Soliai was sorely missed. But 3-0 is a thrill ride.

@ Brian. The Pats have played everyone we will play. They will get Atlanta, New Orleans and Indy later on. We get the Bills, Jets and Bucs later on.

Wheeler and Ellerbe can't stop my 85 year old mother. Carrol was eaten like fresh cut lamb. T-Hlll holds it too long, and the O-line kindof stinks. (being kind). Wins rarely come pretty against playoff caliber teams with Franchise QB's. This one was really ugly, but it's 3 and 0 baby. Hope everybody get's healthy for next Monday Night. GO Phins!!!!

After Wake went out. D-line looked best when Vernon played Wake's position and D Jordan played right side. Odrick woke up. I worry about Ellerbe and Wheeler. They don't stop the run like Burnett and Dansby. Grimes is a gift. Manna from heaven. Dion Sims is a MAN. Got held, (no flag) of course, but still made a great one hand catch. Tannehill may hold on to the ball too long, putting a lot of pressure on a not very good O-line, But he is really a gamer. Good WIN!!!

I quit watching the bloodbath, when Atlanta was in scoring position. I came back just in time to see, the Falcons hadn't scored and Tannehill march down the field, like Wellington at Waterloo. I wouldn't have believed it, Go Phins!!!!

Don't keep Sean Smith. KC needed him to be their best defensive back. Miami had plenty of injured players to draft and keep on the roster instead. Long wasn't going to stay, no matter what he was offered. Where was all that great depth? Oh, traded away, on injury report, or just cut. Fireland!!

I think Ireland looks to draft every injured college player on the draft board. Why just draft 3 of them? And they passed on Matty Ice for Jake Long? Sad state of affairs. Sorry I fell in love with the Fins back in '72. Will be sorrier in 16 weeks.

Maybe they can pick up the Saints backup O-line and running backs. They looked unstoppable.

Jordan needs to be put on the PUP list, till the 8th week. Keep Okpalaugo. Dion Sims needs to get thrown at more. A tight end will get picked up after the cuts. Keller won't be replaced, sadly. T-hill looks great. The new receivers are getting there. Thigpen? I'm not sure what to say. The DB's look really good. Vernon is just what Wake needed. Stop Solia and Odrick, probably not much. I'm not ready to jump off a bridge just yet.

I really get sick of all the whiners. The AFC East is wide open. Not only are the Jests and Bills totally without a QB. The Patsies are depending on Rookie wide receivers and tight ends. They were totally exposed against Detroit. The Fins didn't look great, but they did look good. The defense is definitely top 5. The offense is much better than some people want to admit. The first part of the schedule is going to be tough. Losing Keller is huge. Coaching is my biggest question mark. It could be a good season. Stop complaining!!!

No doubt, the Offense is a mess. Losing Keller is haunting them. Defense looks great. Thigpin?? Before y'all commit suicide, or try to hurt Ross. Patriots scored 9 pts. Brady got 3 of them. 40-9 Detroit. Go Patriots. LOL!!
