I can see the happiness in your eyes too! I'm glad you have fond memories of your teen years too. As a parent, it's hard to watch your own children go through it. Thanks for sharing.
I'll be the one with my heart in my lap
I put this on Tumblr earlier today. It deserves to be here, too, I think: Two things jump out at me in this picture: 1. Holy shit those shoes are huge. 2. I don’t look nervous or uncomfortable; I look genuinely happy. That, combined with my haircut, makes me think that this must have been t...
A lot of people here on the east coast are dealing with the sinus thing too. With temps in the 40's at night, warm, fresh vegetable soup will surely hit the spot! Thanks Wil for the recipe. I hope you feel better soon.
Recipe time: Wil's Sinusitis Can Suck It Vegetable Soup
I managed to go eighteen whole months without getting sick, but sometime in the last week or so, something worked its way into my sinuses, and it's been kicking my ass for the last 48 hours. For most of the last week, I've been waking up in the morning with an intensely sore throat and painful, ...
Great lookin beer Wil! Doing things like this with your kids (at any age) always brings the love between parent and child to the forefront. Could use a good beer as I wait for hurricane Irene to come knocking on my door this weekend.
Ryan and I totally made this.
It's our beer! Click to embiggen at imgur Today, at long last, the beer Ryan and I made together was ready to drink. We got on the phone and opened our first bottles together .... and it totally tastes like beer! It's sort of a slightly-hoppier version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which is pre...
I enjoyed you interview on NPR! I agree with everyone else that it brings back memories and what was going on in my life at the time. Both my boys (now grown up) loved SBM, and they still have it in their movie libraries (as do I).
I remember when I was 12, and watching SBM brought those memories back. I remember wanting to have adventures like Gordie, Vern, Teddy, and Chris did. And I did every time I watched the movie. Congratulations on 25 years of SBM!
Love your blog. You are a great writer and your audiobook readings are outstanding as well!
I was twelve going on thirteen when I made the movie that changed my life
Twenty-five years ago today, on my future wife's 17th birthday, a movie I did called Stand By Me was released. I didn't know it at the time, but it would define my childhood and change my life. Here are a few things I wanted to share, to mark the occasion. I talked to NPR last week about Stand B...
Loved that episode! I didn't have to read the last line of your rewrite...I KNEW what is was going to say!
I am easily amused
So io9 did this thing called the 10 Suckiest Fake Video Games That People Play In Science Fiction. Spoiler Alert: The Game from, uh, The Game is number one. 1) Suckdisk from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Actually, we don’t remember this game having an actual name on the show, but “suckdisk” f...
