The Gold Coast is pretty laid back, but it is a tourist trap. If you want to avoid the touristy areas, head up Tamborine Mountain. There's some stunning scenery and amazing restaurants and lots of little arty crafty stores. Of course, if you REALLY want to avoid the tourists, you and Anne should stop by our place for dinner and hang with our little midgets....open invitation, seriously : )

I've been here for something like four days (I say "something like" because the time travel thing that happens when you cross the International Date Line is still confusing me), and I just love it.
