I just got tears in my eyes. And then I got pissed. I'm so so sorry. If you need another glass of wine, let me know. We're probably overdue to meet in real life anyway. You're in my thoughts. xx, daisy
The Story of My Sexual Assault on Muni in San Francisco
Something happened to me yesterday that has happened to millions of women in cities all over the world. This is my story of sexual assault on public transportation, a bus in downtown San Francisco: I was sitting in a seat by the window across from the rear doors with headphones on, listening t...

So, Yesterday I Got Stuck in an Elevator and Nearly Lost my Mind
I don't think about getting trapped in an elevator every time I get on the elevator, but I think about it most times I get on an elevator. And yesterday, one of my very worst nightmares came true--for two minutes. Two minutes is long enough! Two minutes is long enough be seized with terror and t...

Thanks? I think. ;)
I LOVE NYC - lived there for nine years. But I'm an SF girl through and through.
Thx for reading! xx.
On Pencil Sharpening. Seriously.
My friend David Jacobs is incredibly smart and even more opinionated. But the thing is: he’s one of those guys who’s has a strong viewpoint on everything, but also wants to seem nice. Which, when we’re talking about me, is totally my favorite. For example, yesterday he was telling me – AGAIN – w...
My Interview with the Bold Italic: The stuff they should've shown
The kind folks at The Bold Italic reached out to me last week asking if I wanted to be featured on their site as a "Found Local." Never one to turn down anything that's ALL ABOUT ME, I, of course,... Continue reading

Thanks!
I've heard of Nanowrimo, but for some reason have always stayed away from forced-writing exercises. As it is, I churn out 2-3 posts a week for xoJane and another 2 for SFist, on top of my job as a copywriter, so: you know, I don't feel THAT guilty for neglecting the blog.
BUT. SFist is ending soon (not too soon hopefully- GO NINERS) so I'm going to try to take that time and put it towards this.
I hear you about the Simpsons though. I watch way too much TV. Total time suck, but also. Well, I love TV. What can I say?

I really wanted to incorporate the old school (literally) pencil sharpener into this post, but couldn't figure out how. So lucky you had one in your house!
(Also, thanks for reading and laughing.) xx.

Daisy's Blog Post
Over IM yesterday, I requested (somewhat tongue-in-cheek) that Daisy write a post on pencil sharpening. Seriously: Writers don’t write so that we can sit at home all alone with our cats and cheap grocery store wine while perusing our journals from high school. You think I wrote those journals f...

Sharpies, eh? My high school therapist would say that's low self-esteem masquerading as high self-esteem, but who cares? SOMEONE STILL READS MY BLOG! ;)

I know. I know. I'm so busy writing for xoJane.com and SFist.com that I don't have time to write here anymore. I promise I think about blogging here all of the time. Sorry!!!!
My Thoughts on the Alpine Meadows/Squaw Valley "Merger"
If you follow me on Twitter, you’re probably well aware of how much I love Alpine Meadows and how often I snowboard there. I grew up in San Francisco, so I’ve had a chance to ski and ride almost every resort in Lake Tahoe, but even as a kid, Alpine Meadows was one of my favorites. I loved the tr...

What Gets People Talking - A Case Study
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all. Breakfast Club Some 15 years ago digital made the world two-way and media and advertising companies have wrestled with the implications ever since. We are watching the fundamental restructuring of the editorial mode...
Glad you're coming "home."
See You Soon, San Francisco
I'm going home. I've been in New York for exactly one year. For me, one year is plenty. I'm going back to San Francisco. I'm moving to California on December 1. New York is a lot. For this gal, it's too much. Did you know that I hate crowds? Oh, yes, I really dislike crowds. As I write this I s...
Chuck: You're my new favorite blog reader. :)
I have been mulling about a story about an apartment complex where the mother is the landlord, the brother is the manager, and the daughter is a tenant. TOTALLY BASED ON REAL LIFE, of course.
Who wants to hire me?!
Giving New Meaning to "Having a Bad Hair Day"
Walking to the garage this morning, I bumped into my next door neighbor who, yes, I live directly next to (in an apartment building), but don't see that much. And, yet, because I'm super awkward and feel the need to create chitchat with everyone I encounter instead of just saying "Morning!" or "...
I will totally see you at the Chammy this year!

I like Mizu Spa on King Street. Lavande is OK although it's more of a nail spa. Polished Lounge (also in Soma) is awesome.
I got lasered though (City Skin & Laser) so I don't go to any of those places anymore.
Welcome to SF!
My Brazilian Bikini Wax? Also for her.
When paying for my manicure/pedicure this morning, the girl asked if I was going somewhere special tonight due to my "Turning Heads Red" polish choice. (Really I just think I need all the help I can get; and if the bottle says heads will turn, then it's worth a shot.) My mom called me after my a...

Getting Ready for "The Big One." (Or: Why You Probably Don't Want to Make Home Depot YOUR Meeting Spot)
My mother is a part-owner of the apartment building I reside in. And no, this does not mean I live there for free because she is not the type of woman to give handouts. When I was in sixth grade and I desperately wanted a double-cassette "stereo" with a digital radio and high-speed dub, I had to...
