thanks everyone for your wonderful and heartfelt comments :)
the wish tree: part two
i really didn't know what to expect after we left the wish tree that first day. would someone take down the sign and bag of tags for wishing? would anyone even find it? would people really do some wishing? i just couldn't predict or imagine, but knew that whatever took place next, it would be a...

oh, perfect! i was JUST looking for a different way to prepare my beets. this sounds reeeally yum. THANK you!
beets
There are some foods out there that I just love, but postpone cooking because they are fussy for one reason or another. Beets are one of those foods. Although they have such a nice earthy flavor I find myself hesitating to cook them because I like things to be quick and easy. Today I j...

Lazy Days of Summer
Summer for me is a time to find a cozy chair and read ... I must say I LOVE MY NOOK - never thought I would say those words as I love the feel and smell of books (which I will always buy) but for the amount of books I read - novels that is - the nook is so great for carrying them around ...

Uppercase #6
I love Uppercase Magazine - Favorite! But it can be hard to find as it is a Canadian publication and a bit costly - well I just got mine in the mail in less than 2 days! called Rubber Soul I placed the order on Wed and it came Friday with goodies ;) and shipping was only 4.90. Gotta love it...

Wrapping things up before the end of the school year and a big trip
isn't as easy as I thought it would be. If I thought I could just turn my creative mind and hands off like I could when my kids were small and they were my priority, I was mistaken. I am having a hard time switching my mind to a slower gear and resetting myself to a new course but I've made ma...

what a brilliant use of the keep calm stamp on the muslin bag, and what gifts of love for your friends and family to receive. so inspiring as always amanda!
The Handmades: Edibles!
Being away from home for the first half of December meant there was a lot less holiday baking than usual. But oh, I just couldn't make it through a holiday season without a little bit of peppermint bark. So, among a few other things we squeezed in, there was one epic triple-the-recipe...
