You all were amazing, and attending my first w00tstock without really knowing what to expect was an amazing experience! Now when people ask me what w00tstock is I answer :
It's where awesome meets epic and creates WIN!
Thanks for letting us be apart of that

memories of w00tstock 2.4
I walked across two sets of train tracks, through a tangle of nerds and normals, and navigated my way up Fourth Street toward the theater. My Bag of Holding, slung diagonally across my body, rested comfortably against my side. Inside, my costume changes (read: Nerdy T-shirts) and script (read: H...
Wil..
Wow. Losing a pet is so rough. I remember when I lost my dog to cancer and how I couldn't stop crying for days. It freaked my wife out a little, who also couldn't stop crying, but had never seen me like that.
Grieve for your friend. You have my sympathies and condolences..
i can't think of a title, so i'll just say thank you
I once had a terrible case of the flu. In addition to the body aches and chills and stuff, I was puking my brains out all over the place all the time. The worst part of it was that it would happen with no warning; one second I was fine, and then I'd suddenly feel my stomach turn, and I'd be thro...
Great Show Wil. Had a blast, and was totally worth skipping the afternoon of ComiCon for.
Duranki - it didn't help that there were two d-bags at the bar who had no interest in the show and were trying to talk over it.

reminder: book and a beer tonight
It's always kind of silly to post these things a few hours before the event (or, in this case, auto-post via programmable future-scope earlier this week) but if nothing else, anyone who came to the thing (which, once again, is in the future as I write this, the quantum reality matrix threatening...
That sucks.
I actually just happened to be listening to your audiobook "Happiest Days of Our Lives", including the touching reading of "let go - a requiem for Felix the Bear", which made me cry thinking about my own stray puppy that died a year after we got him of cancer.
Pets are like our kids, and when they go, it can hurt a lot, so despite the emotional disconnect of not knowing your brother, I can understand his pain.
On a side note, after I die, I am going to make sure that the only picture that people ever see of me again is me laying belly up on the couch with a bottle of Stone Brew resting on my belly. Probably the Smoked Porter though.
RIP Freddy Snowpants
My brother had one of the coolest cats in the world. We called him Freddy Snowpants, because he had furry fat hind legs that looked like he was wearing snowpants when he walked. One of my favorite things to do was stand behind him and make the "zip zip zip" noise, which always resulted in much m...

I will definitely be there, I know, you're crazy excited to hear that, I get it.
I have my book ready to be signed by the king of geeks. :)
And of course, Stone brews. Which is the real reason I am coming. Just kidding. Sort of.

in which we combine wil wheaton, books, and beer. (mmmm ... beer.)
Last year, I went to the Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens for an event they call Book and a Beer. It's pretty much what it sounds like: I read from my book while people drank beer. Then I signed my books while I drank beer. Then I ate dinner and had some more beer. Then we drove around loo...

I am about 6 months younger then you and actually saw this movie when it was released, even though it was R and my mom said no .. It was the first movie I ever snuck out to see.
It was really powerful for me, mostly because of you and Jerry, since I totally related. I was overweight and picked on like Jerry's character watching you all bond through out the movie was a great experience and changed the way my 12, going on 13 year old mind worked and helped to let people who were genuinely being nice to me in to my life.
While I realize you took direction for the most part, you exhibited a HUGE amount of talent, and affected a young geeks life in profound way...
Thanks

turns out this post is all about stand by me
I have to keep reminding myself that I can compose offline in ecto. Oh, related to that: I really like ecto, and feel comfortable endorsing it and recommending it to anyone who is looking for a full-featured offline editor for their blog. Anyway, I guess AMC ran Stand By Me on DVD TV last night....
well.. that is just a little slice of awesome.
Thanks
The Justin Bailey Conspiracy
I hope that I'm only days behind on this, and not weeks or months. (Marginally NSFW in an 8-bit kind of way. Also, language.)
Jonathan Coulton and Scarlett Johansson in the same posting ... FTW.
I am also a fan, and love the fact that Warner is being open with letting people listen to the album online. It is a step, albeit a small step, in the right direction in online music.
anywhere she lays her head
I'm going to make a not-so-shocking confession: I love Scarlett Johansson. I realize that it's a tremendously controversial position to stake out, especially when you've read my blog for all of one post and have firmly affixed yourself to the idea that I hate women, but there it is. I admire th...
It was these initial episodes that created the Wesley haters...
After elder Crusher left for Starfleet medical, I think the writers starting taking your character more seriously, and it showed in the storylines they gave you.
Looking back, we are similar age ranges, I remember thinking that first season was the most awesome thing on TV... Of course then Season 2 came on.. :)
Code of Honor Review at TV Squad
You may have already heard a little bit of this review on Radio Free Burrito Episode 11, but now you can experience the entire thing for yourself as Wil Wheaton reviews Code of Honor at TV Squad: When they get to the planet, Lutan introduces his lovely wife Yareena, who is seriously rockin’ the ...
Wil - love your blog, and Radio Free Burrito pod cast, and your tweet's have made twitter so much more interesting. ;)
this is why i love twitter
Twitter haters are the new blog haters are the new 'zine haters are the new mixtape haters. You're so totally unimpressed. We get it. Here is an example of why I love Twitter: wilw: Say you are at a luncheon, stone cold munchin' . A girl starts talkin' while guys are gawkin'. This is the approp...
