This feels like Wired day at quid.pro. A great piece from my former co-worker, Doug Weaver, on the extremes that we shouldn’t go to in selling advertising. Only the inimitable Lewis Black could conjure up the sputtering sense of outrage I feel about Caitlin. She epitomizes what is wrong and broken in the relationship between buyers and sellers, and she’s a ticking time bomb where it concerns the future of the agency planning business. Today was Six Apart's last day. It became Say Media this afternoon. And end of an amazing company, and a start of a new one. A colleague said Six Apart was sort of like college. We all worked and played together, and over the years, we started bumping into alum around the city working at new ventures. We are still a group, and are having a big alum gathering later in January to all come together. Current Six Aparters will be with Say Media, but many of those I have worked with, especially from the very early years, have already... Continue »

Update: I embedded the report below. Thanks to a heads up from Jeremiah Owyang, I was able to review Altimeter Group's new report, "Career Path of the Corporate Social Media Strategist," with enough time to share a few thoughts now that it's released. Who should read it: Anyone who is a social media strategist (especially at a large corporation), reports to one, has one reporting to them, aspires to be one, or plans on hiring... Continue »
