JohnR, you seem to have touched all the moralistic high points. Did Ronald Reagan sign the anti torture statute without limitations? I would say that the real torture and abuse undertaken by the yoboes at abu ghraib dealt a lasting blow to the moral high ground. And it is important to remember that the perpetrators were being processed by the Army legal system when photos of the torture were released by a lawyer of one of the accused. The only reason we might have lost the moral high ground is because the Dems, leftys, and a number of slithering CIA types (all dedicated to the proposition that Bush, a Republican, cannot be allowed to win a war) conspired to broadcast to the world details of the Enhanced Interrogation Program. If the program was still hidden - no loss of moral high ground.

Didn't Dear Leader say we had 60 countries in a new greater coalition than anyone named Bush could ever have hoped for?

I believe the Australian special forces sent to the Middle East are still in Qatar waiting for Iraqi approval to join the fight in Iraq. What a waste.

"England is now starting to fight back by trying to reduce immigration. In the news." This mostly BS from the Cameron government. Immigration is part of the EU law, and short of the UK leaving the EU, cannot be changed.

I thought I was the only cynical person. When the administration decided to ship 3000 soldiers to Liberia, my first thought was - which electoral district will they be from.

The choice of Ron Klain as Ebola Czar indicates that the administration is more worried about the politics of Ebola, than the health of the American people.

"The fact that the enemy doesn't have a good command structure is exactly why swarm theory may apply" I suggest we will not know how good the command structure is until we can evaluate the enemy response to sustained counter attacks. These may be a long time in coming.

Is ISIS/ISIL just lucky or are some of them better trained for military operations than previous groups.

The US plans to train up to 5000 "friendly" Syrians, for up to a year, to fight against 30,000 (to-day's figure) Jihadists plus Assad. This is a serious attempt at foreign policy?

Any NATO preparation at intervening in Ukraine will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep from the Russians. Unless NATO has restricted the Russian contingent they work within NATO. Even if the Russian contingent is removed, the place is likely to be salted with Russian agents. Then there are always the many Russian agents or sympathizers spread throughout the NATO countries.

To make peace, you must first make war. To keep the peace you must have and show strength.

John R. Who will pay? Good question. As I recall, the Iraqis were ready to pay for the removal of Sadaam with oil. Unfortunately, as soon as the bi-partisan bloom wore off the Democrats, their friends in the left wing, the media, and ratbags around the world, screamed Bush went to war for oil. The Iraqis were basically forced to leave the USA out of all oil related matters. So yes, who will pay is a good question.

Imran Khan's attitude is an example of the way playing world class cricket changes a moderate person into one who will associate with Jihadist terrorists (sarc).
How long will it take for us to find out that Valerie Jarrett lobbied against any action for three months before changing her mind (Like the Bin Laden raid).

May I suggest a change to the headline. "OBAMA REPORTEDLY TO MEET WITH Egyptian MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD OFFICIALS IN THE WHITE HOUSE" If you have been following Atlas for some time you will know that Obama has or had Muslim Brotherhood shills working for him in the White House.
More Benghazi sizzle. How long will it take to find out the CIA gave Air to Air missiles to the "rebels" in Syria.
What does "Show of Force" mean?

"This does not mean there wasn't a protest over a video, it just means that there were two concurrent events. One involved a lot of people, but caused no direct loss of US life, and one involved fewer people, but was a clear terrorist act." Read the narrative. Ambassador Stephens concluded a meeting with a Turkish diplomat at 8:30 pm. The street was clear when the diplomat departed. At 9:30 pm the attack started. There was no demonstration.

PS: Re Benghazi: Early on a journalist interviewed one of the Libyan defence team a captain X. He said that during the attack someone shouted out something like "Don't shoot, Morsi sent me." A few days later one of the "alleged" attackers was killed in Egypt. Hmm. getting rid of the evidence?

" After calling for answers from the White House, David Ignatius caves on Benghazi:" Ret7Army. I find myself agreeing with ChowLine on this one. Ignatius ends his article with "... While there were multiple errors that led to the final tragedy, there's no evidence [Yet] that the White House or CIA leadership deliberately delayed or impeded rescue efforts.", which mirrors the White House/State responses until they stopped talking. Obama and Hillary changed their stories as new information was discovered by outsiders. Maybe we need to check the CIA dictionary for the definitions of deliberately and impeded. Fox's Katherine Herridge, stands by her story that CIA operators at the Annex were told to stay put. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/26/cia-operators-were-denied-request-for-help-during-benghazi-attack-sources-say/ Will the truth have to wait for the release of NSA intercepts?

I thought Gen Ham's comment that nobody asked him to deploy military forces was a little strange. His comment could be a subtle way of not saying he was ordered to stand down.
