What a weekend. It was sort of one of those perfect kind of weekends, when there were not too many commitments, a good dose of family, visits with friends, and some time to garden, sew, work on projects, and relax. One of the big projects I finished was a summer mini-makeover of the guest room....

Ha! I remember when my nephew (who is now 20) was in 2nd grade and he told his teacher I would make three vegetable costumes. The problem was that he didn't tell me until two days before the play. My Dad helped me come up with the idea for the costumes and helped me create them. It is one of my fondest memories of my Dad. I still tease my nephew about this incident. Good luck with your "booby" costume!

It sounds like you had a lovely fall get away! I lived in NYS until four years ago and I miss how lovely the fall is there. It is nice in IL, but we don't get much color here. The nice thing about IL is that we hardly get any snow and the winters are quite mild and shorter than in NY.
