is hotleo and Badimo the same person?
Why do you hate the only player on this team worth paying money to see? I don't get it.
With Chalmers, seeing is not believing
The Heat's practice court at AmericanAirlines Arena must be some type of mystical retreat. Because when it comes to point guard Mario Chalmers, it seemingly is where he does his best work. For weeks, coach Erik Spoelstra has raved about Chalmers' performance in practice and drills, about how the...
well going to the first round of the playoffs and getting bounced really helped us long term, short minded people

Ask memphis or the Twolves if making the playoffs is just meaningless and if they are much happier that they got plenty of playing time for Love & Mayo.
People get better in life by competing hard and earning what they have not by being handed the keys with no responsibility.

Who here can honestly say they think Wade as a rookie will be a stellar player playing with last year's Wade? No one! Because last year's Wade was our only offense by design. Rookie Wade won't even see much of the floor to be a goto guy.
Perspective!

Guys like Wade, Lebron, Melo, CP3, Bosh, are going to be good no matter who they play with. Guys like Beasley, Drew Gooden, Marvin Williams are going to be average no matter who they play with.
Not saying there is no hope for Beasley to improve but Wade is a championship level player. I watched Beasley get the same stares from Bill Walker at Kansas State games.

i saw wade's rookie year, and trust me going 0-7 could have resulted with the logical answer bench the rookie but they didn't they fought through and believed in the system. wade had a great up and down rookie year just like some of the best players to step in the league, it took him till the end of the year to gain consistency. he needs to be patient just like the heat was for him, it's his turn to mentor and be the teammate that he once had for his growth.
Posted by: hotleo20 | October 23, 2009 at 02:04 PM
Wade was hurt and didn't play at the beginning of the season for that 0-7 start. As soon as he started playing they got better.
Maybe we should Trade Wade for Bayless since Bayless doesn't get any playing time with the Blazers because the Blazers don't let him play. Then we don't have to worry about Wade hogging the ball from Beasley, D-Wright, Cook and Chalmers and Joel Anthony because he also needs to develop.

any rookie coming out of the draft with no nba experience is a project, which wade falls in those lines because he had a rookie season. the team supported wade during his rookie year no matter what his mistakes were, eddie jones, odom, and butler loved wade and showed him unconditional support. do you see the same support with chalmers, beasley, and cook?
Posted by: hotleo20 | October 23, 2009 at 01:51 PM
LOLOLOLOLOLOL... Are you really comparing a young Wade to the likes of Beasley, Cook & Chalmers??????? Wade was the best player on that team by mid season. Wade was the goto guy on that team because he could bring it, not because the other guys liked him and nurtured him or some crap.
Players either perfom or they don't; did anybody need to hold hands with Lebron or Melo or Magic or Bird (NO). But there was a lot of hand holding for guys like Kwame Brown, D-Wright, Olowakandi, Drew Gooden, and other notable busts.

Wow. I cannot believe that almost all of those experts have the Heat finishing last in the division.

Why? other than Wade this roster sucks; has more questions than answers.
Heat's rotation: Who fits? Who doesn't?
It's never as simple as interview and transcribe with Erik Spoelstra. No, the sparring with the Heat coach typically requires a third step, filling in the blanks.Monday was one of those days, when Spoelstra was asked about getting away from last season's "fluid" rotation and moving toward someth...
We are going to be greeted with another year of an undersized and underskilled team with a lack of speed & quickness.
Without Wade this team would be Terrible and unwatchable. Riley needs to do better. If 2010 is a FA flop we are doomed.
Thunder 96, Heat 91
Observations from Wednesday's 96-91 exhibition loss to the Thunder at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla.: Michael Beasley (pictured below) was terrific, arguably as good as he's looked in a Heat uniform. He opened 6 of 7 from the field and had 20 points within the opening minutes of the third qua...
Kevin Durant: "rangy type"
Does "rangy type" mean one of the 5 toughest covers in the entire NBA, only behind Wade Lebron Kobe and Melo?

I didn't get that comment either?

Good to see Beasley show up tonight at the SF spot. Not worried about preseason loss without Wade. Worried that everybody in the starting line-up would be a bench player on a contender. (other than Wade obviously)
JO looks worse this year so far.

I'm just disappointed that we had the 2nd pick in the draft and got a guy that has all the talent but just seems to not care and not play hard. I surprised that so many people want to make excuses for him. I hope he does turn out to be a star but I cannot think of anybody with his attitude that is a star in the NBA.
Playing the waiting game
No, Brevin Knight or Rafer Alston did not join the Heat at Tuesday's practice at Amway Arena here in Orlando. Neither did Jerry Stackhouse or Malik Rose. Fine. It is early, very early. Snap judgments in the wake of Monday's 87-83 exhibition loss in Detroit would be foolish. So perhaps next tim...
So the net effect of losing Mike Miller, Juan Carlos Navarro, Brian Cardinal, and Kwame Brown, and adding OJ Mayo, Marc Gasol, and Darrell Arthur effectively made them a worse team.
But yeah. OJ Mayo, sick!
Posted by: josh | October 06, 2009 at 07:25 PM
if Mayo wore a Heat uniform you would be a Mayo appologist instead of a beasley appologist and probably wouldn't give a flying crap about Beasley and his lackadaisical pot smoking rehab clinic a$$.

There is probably not another team in the nba with a healthy roster haslem would start on. Mario chalmers or james jones either for that matter.

I agree with you 100% that's why it is such a let-down that Beasley can beat him out. Do you really think that SPO would rather lose with UD than win with Beasley??? NO, he believes that Haslem gives him a better chance to win. He is better on D, is a tougher rebounder, and knows how to play a team game. Beasley is a better shooter and scorer but he cannot be counted on. I hope that changes but obviously it hasn't yet.

I'd contest your point about who contributed more to wins, especially on a per-minute basis.
Posted by: josh | October 06, 2009 at 07:17 PM
Per minute basis; are you serious? He didn't get the minutes because he was skrewing up the game. Spo still gets paid to win games; the other crap he talks is only not to embarass the beaser.

Hell, since he came up: how many wins would you attribute to OJ Mayo? Couldn't be a whole hell of a lot.
Posted by: josh | October 06, 2009 at 07:08 PM
He came in and was the best player on that team; Beasley couldn't start over Haslem or Moon or James Jones or Marion.

Riley fired Pfund becuase Pfund talked him into drafting Beasley when he wanted Mayo. People would have thought it was a bad move on draft night but Mayo is the better pro.
I'm sick of the excuses; until he shows it on the court and contributes to wins I don't want to hear it. How many wins would you attribute to him last year maybe a couple; maybe.

Haslem is starting because if he was coming off the bench his value in trades would be much less. Riley is all about creating leverage and increasing the market value of players. Wake up fellow bloggers!!!! He needs to keep his market appeal decent in case he chooses the trade route this season. Why is this so hard for you guys to comprehend!!!
Posted by: JGtruth | October 06, 2009 at 06:34 PM
Maybe because Halsem is a better PF than Beasley and this summer didn't change that.
Beasley is a mut; instead of being too quick & skilled for bigs and too strong for SF; he is too slow for SF & too small for PF; not to metion too dumb to rotate on D.

I also don't want to hear any more crap about how healthy JO is now. 1 board in 22 min 2-8 shooting. This year will be more of the same. He'll be good once per week as with the rest of the inconsistent turds on this roster and it will be all on D-Wade's shoulders again.
Pistons 87, Heat 83
Observations from Monday's 87-83 exhibition loss to the Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills: Coach Erik Spoelstra said the lineup with Michael Beasley at small forward has been utilized in practice since the start of camp. "We've been working with that all week," he said. Beasley's debut a...
And finally, of those 9, I would argue that only LaMarcus Aldridge has ever been considered anything more than an average defender, and in fact, the majority of those listed are considered very poor defensive players (much like Beasley).
Posted by: josh | October 06, 2009 at 05:36 PM
All those stats don't mean anything. The guy isn't explosive on offense and his D is so bad it's hard to leave him on the court for 30 min.
Hopefully he is better this year but sounds like this first preseason game was another listless effort.
I thought he was going to be a stud but He and D-Wright are going to have to prove it by contributing to wins not just showing a flash of potential here and there.

If the Heat would have taken Mayo over Beasley on Draft night I would not have been happy but as it stands now maybe they should have. At least the back court would be set.
It could be worse; we could have passed on Wade, Bosh & melo to take Darko!!!
Separation of powers: Is it Spo' vs. Riley?
As the Michael Beasley situation plays out, hopefully amid restraint by those looking to judge both the person and the predicament, it will be interesting to see what follows from at least one standpoint. With an informed source confident that Beasley will be back with the team by the Sept. 28 s...
this is really nothing; but the Beezer needs to quit the Twitter forever.
Most NBA players smoke weed including the immortal D-wade (alegedly).
The depression thing is a little troubling but until he pull an Underwood and stabs himself in the neck we should all just relax.
Later rather than sooner for Michael Beasley
The intersection of real life and sports is never an easy one. Michael Beasley finds himself there today, and debate about his place in the Heat lineup, as well as his place in the NBA, seems decidedly out of place. Basketball can wait, as Beasley deals in a Houston rehab facility with his well-...

And the weed baggie. Crap. Reminds me of the rednecks that post items for sale on ebay that they took the picture for whilst not fully dressed (as can be seen in the reflections...)

Wade (not to mention, management) has to be feeling queasy.

Yeah, D-Wade would never smoke Pot or do anything Bad.
Clearing up the Heat's cap clutter
If this was the NFL, there would be no concerns about being so severely over the cap, being so limited on the free-agent market, or facing a $2 million-plus luxury-tax bill. No, the Heat simply would excise the non-guaranteed contracts of Dorell Wright, Chris Quinn and Yakhouba Diawara and be ...

and we would win over 50 games last year as any team with Wade should and Popovich wouldve made sure of

Iverson was a exciting player and can still do some things but he can shoot you out of a game more often then he will win you a game. He is a 34 yr old 6' tall SG not a PG.
