Mike, consider the Sigma Super-Wide II 24mm f/2.8 for your 35mm equiv needs. It's a great lens, and relatively cheap. The only real problem is flare. It was also sold under the Quantaray name and can be had cheaper that way. :) I just recently acquired a converted Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 and Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 (the CRC version), which are filling this gap for me, but if you need AF they're not much of a solution.
