The Second Draft Report for NFPA 70, National Electrical Code®, is now available. NFPA 70 is in the Annual 2016 revision cycle with a deadline to submit a Notice of Intent to Make a Motion (NITMAM) of April 29, 2016. The Second Draft Report is the second part of the Technical Committee Report, which documents the Comment Stage. It consists of the Second Draft, Public Comments with corresponding Committee Actions and Committee Statements, Correlating Notes and their respective Committee Statements, Committee Comments, Correlating Revisions, and Ballot Statements. The NFPA Standards Council, upon request, at its December 2015 meeting has decided to reorganize the Technical Committee on Supervising Station Fire Alarm and Signaling Systems to include broader regional diversity and representation from all affected technologies. Representation is sought in all member classifications; specifically applicants with expertise and experience related to performance based communication technologies (e.g. digital alarm communicator systems, two-way radio frequency (RF) multiplex systems and one-way private radio alarm systems) and operation professionals with experience in central, proprietary and remote supervising stations. At its April 2015 meeting, the NFPA Standards Council approved a new Technical Committee on Building Fire & Life Safety Directors. This committee is charged with the development of national standards relating to facility emergency action plans and criteria for building fire and life safety directors. NFPA is currently soliciting comments from interested organizations and individuals to gauge interest in the development of a standard addressing fire protection guidance for low pressure dispensing containers (“LPDCs”). LPDCs contain a liquid product, which may or may not be a flammable or combustible liquid, that is intended to be dispensed under pressure by means of a nonflammable (e.g., nitrogen) or flammable (e.g., liquefied petroleum gas - LPG) propellant.
